  1. If the data fits, there's no problem going between disc types. Booktype doesn't apply to the DVD- (minus) format, only DVD+ (plus). You can set the volume label to whatever you want. Just configure it at the time of 'building' the image. If you don't fill it out on the 'Labels' tab, the program prompts you to enter one (and probably auto generates something you can use if you don't really care what it is).
  2. Ok, I've located the image mentioned in your log and taken a look at it. The CCD is missing some info that ImgBurn uses. I've now tweaked my CCD related code to deal with such situations.
  3. Oops sorry, you're talking about ccd files, so yes, the data should be in the .img file, not a .bin. When you load the ccd in write mode, does the 'source' box get filled out with valid data / sizes?
  4. Yes. Do you have a valid .BIN file alongside your .CCD? (with the exact same name, excluding the extension) How big is it?
  5. Your image file seems invalid... look at the size of it.
  6. Was that after clicking 'Yes' ? It isn't 'final' in your situation, no It's basically the same as clicking 'No' on the previous one.
  7. They should play fine. I expect you can answer yes or no to that second prompt and they'll both be fine. I can't say I have a definitive answer as to which one actually better - it's not something I've tested.
  8. Try some other discs.
  9. For what you're after, you need to use build mode. 'Write files/folders to disc'.
  10. I believe so, yes. Sorry, it's missing from the ReadMe.txt file... which you probably already know. Here's what I've now added in... /BOOTPLATFORMID <0 | 1 | 2 | 3> Basically, it just modifies the 'Platform ID' field on the 'Advanced' -> 'Bootable Disc' tab for you! Only applies to BUILD mode. 0 = 80x86 1 = Power PC 2 = Mac 3 = UEFI Example: /BOOTPLATFORMID 0
  11. Did you uninstall or just install over the top? Are you sure the log is enabled in the view menu?
  12. Newer versions of the program attempt to open the drive via a different method, that's why I mentioned it. Sorry, I have no idea why your machine isn't allowing access to the device. Something is wrong with it somewhere, but it's not something we'll solve by trying things as we have been doing.
  13. I thought you said you'd updated ImgBurn? The current version is 2.5.8.0. Using the feature in the tools menu, can you post your filter drivers list please.
  14. SPTI is built into Windows. What was the group policy stuff you messed around with? Can you please load ImgBurn, press the F8 key and then go into Tools and search for scsi / atapi devices again. Once it's finished adding things to the Log window, please save the log somewhere and upload/attach it for me. Sometimes these issues can be fixed by uninstalling the controller from within Device Manager (which in turn removes the devices too), and then rebooting so it finds it all again.
  15. Windows 7 SPTI should just work. Maybe you've got something else installed that's locking the drive and preventing anything else from using it? Boot into safe mode and see if you have the same problem. It might be worth trying Microsoft's FixIt tool to see if that sorts out the issue. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us EDIT: OK, so the FixIt util is dead It'll probably be the 'Find and fix problems with devices and hardware' one it links you to instead.
  16. Yes, it's probably related to the choice of media. Try burning at 8x instead of Max.
  17. If that's what it was, they need to fix that!
  18. ImgBurn is for optical drives/media, not USB sticks.
  19. Maybe try the newer Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55005/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST- If that doesn't work, see if you can revert to the Microsoft one. You need to find a driver that does away with the OS reported I/O Error and returns what the drive is actually reporting (if anything). This is an OS error: - "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."
  20. That looks like a driver issue to me. Right click the drive selection drop down box and pick 'Family Tree' please. Close the prompt that comes up and then copy + paste everything from the Log window.
  21. There's a log window that's meant to be left open all the time. If you've closed it, open it again via the View menu. The auto-saved log can be found via the Help menu Without seeing the log, I can't answer your other questions.
  22. Unless I add a generic image conversion feature, I can't see this happening. That in itself is unlikely to happen either as if ImgBurn supports the files, it doesn't need to convert them. As for how it's done... well if it's going from 2064 bytes per sector to 2048 bytes per sector, you're just throwing 16 away somewhere.
  23. Yes, on the 'Media' tab... Which you'll find on the 'Advanced' one.
  24. Do you mean the 'Drop Zone' ? It's enabled via the View menu when in certain program modes. You can drop things on it even when ImgBurn isn't the foreground window. Doing so would usually add them to the 'Source' box.
