  1. It looks like something's preventing that device from being 'opened'. Another bit of software that's already locked it perhaps? It should just fail though if everything about the OS is working as it should be. What's the exact message in the status bar at that point?
  2. Sorry, I'd assumed you were using a standalone DVD/HDD recorder device for putting your VHS onto disc. Is that not the case? Basically, I have no clue what you're actually doing. You asked if there was a problem going between media types... there isn't. If you create an image file by reading one disc, you can burn it to any other disc it'll fit on. (*assuming sector mode is the same - so maybe not CD -> DVD/BD) If your discs are unreadable / skipping, try using better discs / better drive / burning at a different speed. Whatever you're using for your VHS -> DVD conversion is nothing to do with ImgBurn. I have to assume your program has created/authored a valid set of files. You've said you aren't using Build mode, so ImgBurn hasn't created the file system on the initial disc or ISO. The more info you provide (background info, log files etc), the easier it is for us to help you.
  3. If they verified ok, they're fine... at least according to the drive that burnt them. When a drive struggles to read the disc, they tend to jump around a bit and/or be unable to fast forward/skip/search in the player. If you're recording VHS directly to disc, I wouldn't mess around too much after it says it has run out of space. That extra info needs to also be recorded on the disc somewhere. Does your device not have a HDD in it that you can use as a 'staging' area? My dad has one and he records to the hdd, does his editing, menus, chapters etc. and then burns it to disc.
  4. Pretty much the only things you could try are enabling the 'Perform OPC Before Write' option in the Settings and just fully formatting the disc a few more times. Maybe it'll sort itself out. After that, it's a case of trying different discs or a different drive.
  5. The volume label is nothing to do with the file name. It's built into the file system and that'll be from your DVD recorder by the sounds of it. I'm sure your DVD recorder would be smart enough to handle the disc running out of space. There's an option in the tools menu that'll let you edit the volume label in an image file.
  6. It'll be in the settings under the build tab.
  7. I found a bin and cue one before I found your one. That should work.
  8. If the data fits, there's no problem going between disc types. Booktype doesn't apply to the DVD- (minus) format, only DVD+ (plus). You can set the volume label to whatever you want. Just configure it at the time of 'building' the image. If you don't fill it out on the 'Labels' tab, the program prompts you to enter one (and probably auto generates something you can use if you don't really care what it is).
  9. Ok, I've located the image mentioned in your log and taken a look at it. The CCD is missing some info that ImgBurn uses. I've now tweaked my CCD related code to deal with such situations.
  10. Oops sorry, you're talking about ccd files, so yes, the data should be in the .img file, not a .bin. When you load the ccd in write mode, does the 'source' box get filled out with valid data / sizes?
  11. Yes. Do you have a valid .BIN file alongside your .CCD? (with the exact same name, excluding the extension) How big is it?
  12. Your image file seems invalid... look at the size of it.
  13. Was that after clicking 'Yes' ? It isn't 'final' in your situation, no It's basically the same as clicking 'No' on the previous one.
  14. They should play fine. I expect you can answer yes or no to that second prompt and they'll both be fine. I can't say I have a definitive answer as to which one actually better - it's not something I've tested.
  15. Try some other discs.
  16. For what you're after, you need to use build mode. 'Write files/folders to disc'.
  17. I believe so, yes. Sorry, it's missing from the ReadMe.txt file... which you probably already know. Here's what I've now added in... /BOOTPLATFORMID <0 | 1 | 2 | 3> Basically, it just modifies the 'Platform ID' field on the 'Advanced' -> 'Bootable Disc' tab for you! Only applies to BUILD mode. 0 = 80x86 1 = Power PC 2 = Mac 3 = UEFI Example: /BOOTPLATFORMID 0
  18. Did you uninstall or just install over the top? Are you sure the log is enabled in the view menu?
  19. Newer versions of the program attempt to open the drive via a different method, that's why I mentioned it. Sorry, I have no idea why your machine isn't allowing access to the device. Something is wrong with it somewhere, but it's not something we'll solve by trying things as we have been doing.
  20. I thought you said you'd updated ImgBurn? The current version is 2.5.8.0. Using the feature in the tools menu, can you post your filter drivers list please.
  21. SPTI is built into Windows. What was the group policy stuff you messed around with? Can you please load ImgBurn, press the F8 key and then go into Tools and search for scsi / atapi devices again. Once it's finished adding things to the Log window, please save the log somewhere and upload/attach it for me. Sometimes these issues can be fixed by uninstalling the controller from within Device Manager (which in turn removes the devices too), and then rebooting so it finds it all again.
  22. Windows 7 SPTI should just work. Maybe you've got something else installed that's locking the drive and preventing anything else from using it? Boot into safe mode and see if you have the same problem. It might be worth trying Microsoft's FixIt tool to see if that sorts out the issue. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us EDIT: OK, so the FixIt util is dead It'll probably be the 'Find and fix problems with devices and hardware' one it links you to instead.
  23. Yes, it's probably related to the choice of media. Try burning at 8x instead of Max.
  24. If that's what it was, they need to fix that!
  25. ImgBurn is for optical drives/media, not USB sticks.
