  1. Probably a PAL/NTSC thing.
  2. The log shows you have DMA issues. What controller is the drive connected to? Do you have one of these new motherboard that don't have a proper one built into the southbridge and instead rely on a 3rd party chip from jmicron or someone? Make sure the drives are configured as 'Master / Slave' and not on Cable Select. Use a decent 80 wire cable and one that's as short as possible. Uninstall the IDE controller as per the DMA post in the FAQ and reboot.
  3. Try opening the file with a proper tagging program. Something like ID3-TagIt. http://www.id3-tagit.de/
  4. The MS directshow filters will fail if the mp3 uses an ID3 v2.4 tag. You might want to check your files don't use that version. After that, it falls back to ACM decoding and there's a but in that, which is what you're running into.
  5. Elby should make it so images >= 1GB are emulated as DVD's in the same way DAEMON Tools does it.
  6. Sorry, I meant media wise. Post the log of the read. Splitting works fine for me from both a real drive and a virtual one. If the virtual drive reports the very large media as being a cd type disc then that's why splitting is failing. Splitting is always disabled for CD images.
  7. Did you change the one on the Build tab instead of the Read tab by any chance? EDIT: Is the virtual drive showing as a CD-ROM?
  8. you can get some elf files that install on your memory card and boot a nice little media player. They'll play xvid / divx. 'SMS' springs to mind. http://home.casema.nl/eugene_plotnikov/
  9. If you enable 'show hidden devices' in Device Manager and look at the 'Non-Plug And Play Drivers' section, you might be able to see if there are any stray DT/Alcohol drivers left on the system. If in doubt, you could get a few screenshots of the list and post them up. DT with SPTD 1.56 should be ok as that's what I have on myself.
  10. Alcohol and DT both use a very low level driver. Make sure they're up to date and using SPTD v1.56
  11. It's where the info on the disc doesn't match the source image file. That *might* not prevent a video disc from playing but you sure as hell don't want one on a data disc as it basically means the disc is corrupt.
  12. Normally it's Tahoma which is pretty much what the entire OS uses. Which OS are you actually using? Vista is a bit different, it uses something else. Like I said though, it comes from the system wide 'message box' font so you can change it in the display settings -> appearance.
  13. Ah, do you have 'Auto Calculate' enabled? It would indeed refresh when that's on (it's not on by default and I don't enable it). There's still no reason for the current profile to change though - especially when the tray hasn't even been cycled!
  14. Your drive is a bit poorly! dragging data to the 'source' box doesn't refresh the drive info so if it's doing that without you telling it to, it means the drive went from being 'ready' to not being ready all by itself. As it's so on/off, any chance you could try it in another machine and see if it does the same? It can only be the hardware (cable perhaps?) or some dodgy/conflicting driver so troubleshooting shouldn't take too long. If say you did 10 tray cycles (without changing anything else), how many of those return a current profile of 'BD-ROM' where it should be 'BD-RE'?
  15. I don't know how you've left it but 'prefer properly formatted +rw' should be left ticked (as it is by default). I promise you that option is not the cause of / solution to your problems.
  16. I know you think that you're reporting in good faith but I'm simply saying that it's not possible. Something else cocked up if the button was disabled - and as your drive has incorrectly reported BD discs before, I've good reason to believe that's what happened here. As mentioned before, a quick erase in ImgBurn just writes zeroes to the first 800 sectors (enough to knock out the important part of the file system) - via the 'WRITE' command. BD-RE (like DVD+RW) needs to be sent the proper 'FORMAT UNIT' command before *ANY* 'WRITE' command will work. The 'FORMAT UNIT' command is only sent when doing a 'Full Erase'.
  17. I'm sure you could google for a guide on how to do this, there must be thousands of them. If you want to burn an image might I suggest using the 'write image file to disc' button. There's even a guide in the Guides forum on how to do it.
  18. It's impossible for a properly recognised BD-RE to grey out the write button. period. Don't forget, I have the H20L too, I've NEVER run into this problem and I certainly haven't unticked that 'properly formatted' option. Here's a run down of what the program says in the status bar + button status for various BD-RE statuses. 19. Have you tried uninstalling the controllers in device manager as per the dma post in the FAQ? If not, do so.
  20. I know exactly why 2.4.0.0 isn't working on your machine but the difference between the two should NOT be causing it to hang - after all, it doesn't do so on the very vast majority of other users PC's. ImgBurn is triggering the problem, it is not THE problem. What motherboard chipset do you have? Are you running the latest drivers for that? Is your bios up-to-date? What controller is your Samsung drive attached to? Do you have other burning software installed? If so, what? Do you have virtual drive (emulation) software installed? If so, what?
  21. lol I'd only be using (forcing) Comic Sans MS if I was still 12 and programming in VB ImgBurn uses the font used for message boxes, so if that's how your system is configured then that's what it'll use.
  22. Never heard of the program (or collection of programmes as it appears to be) and what an odd thing to post about on the ImgBurn forum.
  23. The samsung drives are prone to error out like that on +R media. Try turning the 'DVD+R Reserve Track' option in the settings (Write tab) on. It's that or use DVD-R instead as they appear to work ok.
  24. Remember the 30mm is from the VERY centre of the disc (i.e. the middle of the hole), not from the bit you can see it burns to. On the actual burning surface, the 30mm is probably something like 7mm So long as there's a difference between having it on and having it off when burning something
  25. It'll tell you if it needs erasing (even though it's automatic) - by using those very words. Unticking that box did nothing. If the button was greyed out it's because your drive was reporting it as BD-ROM again, and that's out of my hands I'm afraid.
