  1. You're fine to just use that one....well, you have little choice!
  2. It would appear the program still has some sort of 'handle' open to it. I tried quickly to reproduce it but couldn't. Could you just tell me exactly how you add the folder / files to the main ImgBurn GUI? Do you drag + drop? Do you type it in manually to the 'edit' box at the top? Do you browse for the folder? Which folder do you add, the VIDEO_TS one or it's parent folder?
  3. lol well as far as that disc goes, you'd actually get a better image if you rebuilt it using 'Build' mode. At least then the IFO and Physical layer breaks could/would match!
  4. The image content has NOTHING to do with the burners ability to burn it. Your drive is failing way before any software attempts to read the files on it - in fact, programs aren't allowed to read what's on it because the drive can't perform basic TOC analysis. The problem here is between your drive, it's firmware and the media you're using. It's NOT due to what you're burning.
  5. Any chance of getting hold of another drive to test in your pc? Oh and of course do test out the media in someone elses drive on their pc.
  6. I agree, it is hard. I would however at least check for updates before mentioning problems and signing up for a program's support forum. The first thing anyone doing 'support' wants to know is if you're using the latest version.
  7. God knows how it played without a video_ts.ifo file! The option to 'continue' was there for clued up people who knew they didn't want a functioning DVD Video disc, but just happened to be backing up some DVD Video files!
  8. You can't check the burnt disc, your drive won't initialise it!
  9. It would appear that way, yes. Have you only tried burning at 4x ? What about 8x, 12x etc?
  10. We used to swear by Ritek G04 discs. Then G05's came out and were useless compared to G04's. The drives & media forum kinda shows the G05's aren't as good as modern Verbatim MCC or Taiyo Yuden discs. Your 106 burner looks to be getting pretty dated now, have you had it since it came out? Perhaps you've just worn it out! It's that or the G05's are just getting worse and worse / you got a dodgy batch.
  11. try 'test mode' and see if gets any further - it wont be physically burning to the media so you wont waste any. It's VERY VERY unusual to stop at exactly the same LBA every time. It could actually just be a fault with your drive. It it was a firmware issue (not liking the discs), I'd expect that LBA to change.
  12. Nope, I meant 'disc', not 'image'. I find it weird that the MDS file contains an invalid LB address. So you need to load the original disc again and see exactly where it thinks the physical media layer break is. It's the last couple of lines in the info panel on the right within ImgBurn. The LB addresses from the IFO are nothing like the MDS one so something is very messed up!
  13. At EXACTLY the same LBA... I very much doubt that! It's only a case of your burner (and it's firmware) not liking the media so there's little I can do. The discs should be ok (unless they're fake / obviously faulty - scratched etc) so it's pretty much down to the drive. Firmware updates often fix media related issues so please do make sure you upgrade it properly and dont just edit your original error with the new firmware version - which you appear to have done above.
  14. Do you have 'recurse subdirectories' ticked?!
  15. You'd need to go back to the original source disc and try to figure out why the layerbreak position was read as being what's stated there - i.e. 1.605.369, in the first place! To see what the IFO layerbreak position is, just click tools -> iso -> display ifo layer break.
  16. lol I wouldn't bother with lightscribe, it's pretty awful.... takes too long and it's really only interesting for 5 mins until the novelty factor wears off. Forget 'bad luck', every brand has it's ups and downs. My 716 only lasted a year. All my other NEC's, Pioneers, LiteOn's, BenQ's etc are still going strong. Any of those 5 brands (inc Plextor), + LG are ok. Go for the latest models and you can't go far wrong*. (* with the exception of the BenQ... I would go for a 1655 over a 1670) My 716 was replaced by a Plextor 760. That seems like a nice drive
  17. Try updating to the GA05 firmware. http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers...le.asp?id=20547 Direct Link: ftp://ftp.gateway.com/pub/hardware_suppor...irmwareGA05.exe
  18. 1.605.369 is not a valid LB address. It must be a multiple of 16. All that's happened there is that I've told the drive to use 1.605.369 (as taken from the MDS) and it's rounded it up to the nearest 16. So the layerbreak point *could* be wrong if you IFO files etc were aligned with 1.605.369.
  19. You're using 2.0.0.0, the problem you had there was fixed in 2.1.0.0 I don't often release new versions for fun, you'd do well to keep up-to-date!
  20. There shouldn't be any issue here so something must be faulty somewhere. Either the discs are fake / from a dodgy batch or your drive is giving up the ghost (my 716 only lasted a year - and that was with very occassional use!). You could also have a dodgy cable, bad drivers, naughty filter drivers installed etc. Sorry but this is something you're going to need to fix by some messing around. I don't often see drives being listed as '(ATAPI)' so can I just ask HOW exactly the drive is connected to your PC? What chipset does the PC use? Is the drive on the 1st or 2nd channel? Is it master or slave? Is the IDE controller a proper one on the motherboard that's built into the north/southbridge chip or is it a 3rd party one (maybe a pci card) ?
  21. None of the official NEC drives (+ NEC firmware) have ever supported booktype setting on DVD+R or DVD+RW media, only on DVD+R DL media. The OEM ones sometimes do though - i.e. Buffalo
  22. As it currently stands, it cannot be sold / packaged with any commercial / shareware titles. Tell me more about what you have in mind?
  23. I don't know of any tool that enable you to mess with anything other than the booktype stuff....so I've nothing to copy from in case the drive DOES actually allow you to configure things like WOPC etc.
  24. I'm sure MCC-004 is 16x anyway.
  25. Rastus2, hold your horses before you do anything major, I'll send you over another version with some extra debug info in it. Maybe that'll give me more to go on.
