  1. Unfortunately your drive is old and don't have support for the new media, see the only speed offered is 2.4x on 8x rated media. If you can't get the 2.4x media anymore maybe it's time to get a modern drive. Regarding the burn of xbox games at 8x is not a problem for the console, it doesn't know at wich speed was burned. All it needs is a good quality burn.
  2. We need more info in order to attempt to help you. A log is always necessary as per pink box say above.
  3. The format of video doesn't matter. All is just data. Try with some quality discs from Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden. CMC are known for bad cheep media. Can you post a new log from a failed session?
  4. Your drive is old and don't handle the new media very well. Update firmware to latest B7W9 http://www.firmwarehq.com/BenQ/DW1620/files.html Use a lens cleaning disc in that drive. Try all supported speeds. Buy some quality media from Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. If all fails buy a new drive.
  5. Install the latest firmware and try again. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/TS-H653L/files.html Try all supported speeds.
  6. This could be a problem on some standalone DVD players. Other than that the disc should be fine.
  7. 2.4x is not necessary to burn xbox360 games or any other type of discs, you can burn it at any higher speed. All that matters is to be a good quality burn at whatever speed is the disc burned.
  8. Install the latest chipset/storage drivers on your motherboard. Don't rely on Microsoft drivers.
  9. It dosen't specify what actual drive it use. As I see arround, a good recommendation is one of the Optiarc AD-72xx series, pick one of them and find yourself a nice external (not fancy) enclosure for it.
  10. Listen to LIGHTNING UK!, and don't buy a slim burner, whatever they advertise. Do a search (ImgBurn forum is a great resource for bad burns caused by slimtype burners) and you'll find that regardles of manufacturer they are in general rubbish. Especialy, if you are planing to burn DVD+R DL with it, you are advised to change your plan before it's too late. Here are a few points to minimise the problems on burning dual layer discs and one of the point referes to avoid using a slim burner. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  11. It is in Tools/Settings/Events tab, uncheck it.
  12. You don't mention what you changed in your routine. Making the same steps lead you in the same point. Did you try one of those 5 points in the link from post #2? Your drive is old and can't handle correctly the new media, see the only 2.4x speed offered on a 8x rated media, should be more options. You can try with high quality media fron Verbatim (MKM-001-00) or you can buy a new drive that burn the media you are using. You could try to run a lens cleaning disc in that drive too.
  13. Read and follow this http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  14. The laptop may be good but the burner is the problem. Laptop/slimtype burners aren't the best option for burning Dual Layer discs. Regardles of manufacturer they are in general rubbish. Your best option is to buy a normal/full size burner in an external enclosure.
  15. Here is a thread with the same problem http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=14229 Only the firmware on that drive is one step behind. Unfortunately no solution for the drive. You have to buy one that actualy do what it says.
  16. Try other brand of discs. Verbatin and Taiyo Yuden are recommended.
  17. thumb.db files are hidden files and will not be added unless you checked "Include Hidden Files" in Options tab on the right side of Build mode. To eliminate other files/folders use Advanced Imput Mode http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6392 see section 3.3.1.2 Advanced Input Mode
  18. It was observed in time that the slimline/laptop burners regardles of manufacturer have problems burning Dual Layer DVD's. With other type of discs seems to work but when it comes to burn a DVD+R DL they rarely produce a working disc. It's nice that you have an external to rely on.
  19. We slowly go away from the main scope of this forum aka ImgBurn support... but here you go http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Uninstall-or-change-a-program No offence but please do your part and learn to use Google.
  20. ImgBurn will suggest the correct settings if it recognise a valid DVD Video stucture, just agree and it will care the rest.
  21. Me neither don't know how to fix codecs with that tool. All I know is that if you install more packs on a system they tend to mess things up. You have to sort out and unninstall them, I don't know another way, sorry. Then install only one pack. I use K-Lite and seems to do the job.
  22. Probably that disc is damaged in a previous attempt to burn, you need to test with a new blank one.
  23. Is this your problem? http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=59&st=0&p=967&&do=findComment&comment=967 Post a log for further assistance.
  24. Start with uninstalling all codec packs that you may have installed, than reinstall only one pack of your choice.
  25. ImgBurn is a burning program and don't need any other program to do that. If you want to reauthor a disc than you probably need some tools but that is beyond ImgBurn scope. Keep in mimd that ImgBurn will burn the files "as is" and can't copy protected discs. Please read the Guides and FAQ
