  1. If you try to play on a DVD player - can the player support the format they are in? Post a log, it will tell us more.
  2. There is a later firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHAS120%2B6/files.html Cheap discs are a bit of hit and miss. Try with Verbatims.
  3. Same issue with another speed of the available ones? The prices of new burners are very low, so it might be a solution to get a new one. If it can't burn the best discs on the market, something is not right with that burner and it must be around 5 years old.
  4. Seems to be a later update for the firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Philips/DVDR1628P1/files.html You could also try a slower speed, like 4x.
  5. Sure the burner is connected to a USB 2.0 or higher connection? The speeds you are talking about sounds as USB 1.x.
  6. If your burner is not from the Flintstone age, it should support double layer burning.
  7. Instead of using a single layer DVD disc, get a double layer R+ DVD disc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD%2BR_DL
  8. Sounds as a rebadged LIte-On drive. Sure it's not book typing DL media automatically by the firmware?
  9. The disc has been used, use a fresh one.
  10. It sees the right sector size if you use better quality media (Verbatim)? There is also later versions of the program to install.

Where is the ImgBurn log file?
  12. Yoiu have any log you can post? It would tell us more.
  13. More or less the same reason as if you burn the discs with a very low speed, they will be easier to read and not wear the laser head out.
  14. http://www.wiihacks.com/dumping-burning-wii-discs/6222-how-do-you-burn-wii-games-dvd-r.html Sounds as a joke to me...
  15. Try with DVD +R DL media instead. The ones you have now can't set the LB as you wish.
  16. If it's an ASUS computer, try to install this update. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1792-file_PLDS_DS-8A3S_HA28.zip.html You could also try the 4x and 6x write speeds.
  17. Doubt you will find any burner today that burns slower than 4x. Slow speed is not the same as best written disc. Modern burners tend to have a nice write quality at higher speeds than the ones from the Fred Flintstones days.
  18. These are the speeds your combination of firmware/burner/media supports. 6x is the lowest speed possible.
  19. SP1 is free. http://update.microsoft.com/ It will not change your burn result. But your computer will be safer/better working. Cheap/low quality media is a bit of hit and miss.
  20. $649. If it just was Zimbabwean dollar... http://www.neato.com/product/iRippit-x50-Duplicates-1-50-CDDVDs-with-ease,522,36.htm
  21. Only have the first one, so no clue on the other one, but the Optiarc is nice.
  22. Might be that there are some dust on the laser head that needs to cleaned. Try a cleaning disc. SlimLine drivers have a way of getting dusty.
  23. SlinLine drivers are not the best ones + CMC MAG is not very high quality media. So, to rule out the discs, try with some better ones, like Verbatims.
  24. Is the disc scratched/dirty or brand new?
