  1. That burner has no support for that media code. It's using a generic write approach, that seems not to work very good.
  2. Looks to me just as a reading try from a poorly burned disc.
  3. Change if from Max to whatever you want. (Some readers has a lower read speed they can't go under)
  4. 1. Get a fan for the reader, even if I doubt it will impact the reading. 2. Already there
  5. True. Looks like it's for another series of firmware, so normally it's no luck to update it to another series, like the 0609 as you have now. SlimLine burners are also usually more tricky to burn DL media with.
  6. Ritek's are a bit of hit and miss. Usually the later.
  7. The log shows that you tried the 8x write speed. Did you also try the other two supported ones? (4x/6x)
  8. That burner was releases 8 years ago. I would double the money you will need to spend on one cleaning disc and get a new burner.
  9. Aone Gold has used two different dyes in the past.
  10. Same crap if a Lite-On is used in the USB cabinet. 11. End of the story. It's the USB cabinet that's the joker. Attached it directly to the Silicon Image card, and now it shows the right stuff. 13. Same crap even after a reflash with the original firmware from this page. http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/Optiarc-AD-7260S/ The ones on the firmware.hq page wouldn't install as there was already the latest one installed. Changed the USB cable to the same port as the Lite-On (that works), but still crap. =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.5.5.2 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: [None Found] Upper Class Filter: SiRemFil Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: dvdfab Lower Device Filter: [None Found] Filter Name: SiRemFil File Name: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\SiRemFil.sys File Version: 1.1.8.0 File Description: Filter driver for Silicon Image SATALink controllers. 14. 1. Never use this one for +R single layer media burning. 2. Thought first it was the cheap fake TY water damaged media I use for testing purpose. But happens also with real Verbatim +R media. 3. All other of my drives reads the info correctly. 4. Think it's the genuine 1.03 firmware from Optiarc. I'll reflash it and check for sure. 5. Same disc inserted and every time I restart the program I get different value for the Book Type field. 6. Crappy values also for +r DL media, but no issues burning them. 15. It's in the write mode of the program.
  16. Perhaps try to set the book type option to Drive - Permanent for +R media (that should stay active even after a reboot). Not sure why you need to book type a Windows installation disc. That's mostly for old DVD players. The burner is pretty old and the 3550 model was not one of the greatest one from NEC. Not normal time for a burner. Can your burner read the disc your friend burned?
  17. Can't remember seeing your thread. Perhaps it never got through as it should when you posted it?
  18. Section 4.2.12.4 NEC in this guide explains it a bit more. Basically you shouldn't need to touch those settings with a bitsetting firmware installed. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6392&st=0&p=66444entry66444 Liggy's ND3550 Bitsetting Firmware 1.07 - is this the one you selected? If so, it should change the book type automatically. Riteks are a bit of hit and miss.
