  1. To which version of the Lite-On firmware did you flash it?
  2. Your writer seems to be a rebadged BenQ 1640. You could set the book type function by using the option book type. In the main menus of ImgBurn: Write mode -> Device -> Change Book type and then use the Benq tab/sub menu There is a part of the guide that shows how to set up a Sony as a rebadged Lite-On, just use the Benq info instead of the Lite-On info. See part # 4.2.12.1 Lite-On # 4.2.12.2 Advanced http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6392
  3. You could insert the disc you burnt in your writer and use the write mode to see how the disc looks in the right panel info window. You should see something like this. The read marked part should - if the writer managed to set the book type automatic - correspond the same info as in my log.
  4. I could suspect that the verify part only checked if the burned disc could be read and it never compared it to the actual source file.
  5. Hi and welcome to the forum, andifhopefails! Could you post a log a burn, it would show the model you have. You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  6. That one is 'normal' and is always seen in that part in the log. I never understand why that one is a W and not and I...
  7. Hi and welcome to the forum, l_franklin20! In those other threads, did they use the same writer as you have? Latest firmware applied?
  8. Hi and welcome to the forum, croftonbill! Can you post the log of that attempt? You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  9. Hi and welcome to the forum, jztie! Is that error code when you insert a blanc disc or is it in the verify part of the burning? Can you post some info on your current writer and the media your are using? Some clues on this error: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6065
  10. I would try with some Verbatims. Disc cleaners (a disc with some alcohol) should be sold at most places that sells radios and tvs.
  11. Most times the error "Power Calibration Area Error" is either that the writer could need a cleaning or it's on it's way to the dumpster or that the media in use is not liked by the writer.
  12. Tried to have all these settings disabled and only SmartBurn enabled? Sometimes with my own Lite-On's - those settings gave joke results. I don't have your model, but my models usually gives the best result at 8x.
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum, xrofl! Have you been able to write with that media before with success?
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum, Big Brother! Is that real or fake Taiyo Yuden media? Used the same spindle of discs or opened up a new one?
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum, stylez! Did the problems start when you opened up a new package of discs?
  16. If you want both folders to be included in your image/burn - then select the root folder.
  17. Your basic issue is that the media your are using is not supported in the firmware (the writers media library) - so it uses a generic writing approach, that doesn't seem to work very well. Have you tried with another brand of discs? Is it a Dell computer? If so, there is a later firmware version to install. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...p;fileid=192252
  18. The only write speed that is supported by the current firmware is 4x. You might try that speed. I guess the writer used a 'generic' write approach when you selected a non supported write speed. If the 4x write speed try fails, you have to either find the 2.4x labeled ones again or get a new shiny writer.
  19. In this picture there is a setting 'On chip IDE setting' any mention about RAID in that sub menu? http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/image.html?i...DE2Mzcmc3Q9MCY=
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum, jaydawg! Did you also use the 8x write speed ones with success before? Might be that the one labeled for max 2.4x write speeds works better than these new ones.

    Vista rebooting

I guess you are not the first one to install the SP2 beta?
