Yes, DVD Flick will convert the avi/DivX file so it can be played on your player. DVD Flick is not a burning program, so you will end up using ImgBurn for the burning part.

If you open up the burned disc in Windows Explorer, what files do you see there?

Might be that the transfer speed from your USB writer/reader is to low to be able to play the disc without those problems that you are facing. The speeds indicates that you have it connected to a USB 1.0/1.1 connection.

Load the file in http://www.dvdflick.net/ and let the program create DVD compliant files (.vob, ifo, .bup) that can be played on your stand alone player. There is a guide on the DVD Flick homepage. The program will automatically create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders for you. You can then use ImgBurn to burn the final files from DVD Flick.

If you play the source video file from you hard disk, does it then turn up with picture and sound?

With those "speeds" it looks as you connected the USB connection to a non USB 2.0 connection. What program do you use to play the burned disc?

How is the writer attached? Some motherboards have jMicron connections that are not good to use for writers (at least according to the ASUS motherboard manual). The jumpers back on the writer(s) are configured right? (master/slave/cs)

The question still remains - do you want to burn the 'oversized' image on a DL disc or on a single layer disc? If the later - you need to get it down in size first.

When you are in the build mode and then in tab Advanced, you can set the media type you are planning to use for the burning of the image.

Only if you have a DL disc. It will not work with a single layer disc.

When the program shows how many megabyte the disc can hold it uses the same definition of megabyte as Windows does, 1 megabyte = 1024 X 1024. Disc manufactures uses the same definition as producers of hard disks does, 1 megabyte = 1000 X 1000. But in reality it's the same amount of data that they are talking about. 4483 megabyte = 4483 X 1024 X 1024 = 4700766208 bytes = 4,7 GB.

I wouldn't say it's unnecessary, as the re-load tests it the burned disc really can be read again by initiating it again. Once had a Pioneer writer that could verify the disc if the tray was not re-loaded, but if it was - it couldn't read it. So it's a good test to know that it can be read. You can disable this option if you like so in the settings of ImgBurn (the Write tab).

The burn should have been done, so it seems that the verify stage is not starting. Could it be that the burned disc could not be read by your burner? Could you post the log from that burn attempt? You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
