Hi and welcome to the forum, trenton24! If you are using the same brand of media as with your older burner and you now can't play them on the standard alone player, it sounds as either you applied book type setting on your previous burns or that the burns that the current burner produces are not good in quality. You could post a log from one of your burns and/or do a scan of the burned disc with Nero DiscSpeed's scan disc function. http://www.cdspeed2000.com/

Layer Break info is saved in lead-in area of DVD?
Cynthia replied to kclark's topic in ImgBurn Support
Hi and welcome to the forum, kclark! A Nero 'disc to disc' copy should make the backup 1:1 to the original. -
There is also Super, a free program. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

If you are refereeing to the posted test in this forum - that test with a Lite-On is 2.5 years old and you should look at some recent models of various burners and go through posted scans over at CDFreaks instead for a more 'updated' view.

Hi and welcome to the forum, pheres_synyster! Convert the avi file to a DVD Video file set with http://www.dvdflick.net , then you can burn them after that.
-
Could you post the full log? That is just the last part of it.
-
Could you do a scan with either DVDInfoPro or Nero DiscSpeed , to see if the burn with vso convertxtodvd really went ok? Both these programs exists in a free version. If there is a problem, there should be a high spike at the last part of the scanning. Did you apply book type to DVD ROM in that program?

Had you DVD Shrink running at the same time as you burned?
-
There is a version 1.24 here. http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/content/suppor...t/software.html If you update: No disc in the writer Tray closed All other programs closed

If you are lazy as me, just install it over the old version. If you uninstall the old one, the settings will be gone.

Is it a DVD movie or an audio CD?

how to change from NTSC file system to PAL?
Cynthia replied to sirtrancelot's topic in ImgBurn Support
Hi and welcome to the forum, sirtrancelot! NFTS is a file system and has nothing to do with video/TV systems like PAL or NTSC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC If your source video files are PAL, they will be PAL also on the burned disc. -
Convert the MPEG-4 with http://www.dvdflick.net to DVD Video files.
-
If the disc is not protected: Read Mode and then split the ISO with 7-zip.
-
Hi and welcome to the forum, Cheatlancer! You can always split the ISO with http://www.7-zip.org/ Perhaps before you jump to that other program - why not post a burning log from ImgBurn on the failure burn? If one program doesn't work - it might be the same issue with that other program. You can find the old log here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs

Hi and welcome to the forum, kostenzer! In Build Mode and the tab Advanced -> Bootable disc Extract Boot Image Insert the media that holds the boot sectors to be extracted and press the extract button and then select a place to save the extracted boot image to. If you now look in the log, this is what gets up in there (just an example). I 00:00:00 Boot Image File: J:\BootImage.ima I 00:00:00 Creating Boot Image... I 00:00:00 Original Emulation Type: None (Custom) I 00:00:00 Original Developer ID: Microsoft Corporation I 00:00:00 Original Load Segment: 07C0 I 00:00:00 Original Sectors To Load: 4 I 00:00:00 Wrote 2 048 bytes to boot image file. I 00:00:00 Operation Successfully Completed! This information is then to be used for the other options in the 'Bootable Disc' window.

Hi and welcome to the forum, TO81! You can't playback the disc? You should verify your burn if you want to know that the burn went ok. If you still have the .iso file - use the Verify mode of the program to perform it.

Hi and welcome to the forum, ripjack! 1. Make sure you have not attached it to on of those JMicron connections. At least my instruction book says not to attached ATAPI (writers) to such a connection. 2. In the BIOS there should be a setting to configure the SATA. The options are usually RAID/Standard IDE/AHCI. The default should be: Standard IDE

What's the brand and model of your writer?
-
The last sharp version had 2.4.0.0. includes, so yes I think so.
-
10X is not a 'supported' write speed in your firmware, might be the reason for the failure. I write my discs at 8x with my Lite-On as that gives the best results. There are some advanced settings for Lite-On writers. Does your log include this row, with these settings enabled?
