I/O error for the first time. (Update: Now with different error message)
chewy replied to zero719's topic in ImgBurn Support
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...228&lang=en looks like there is a firmware update, not sure it will help with those disks tho? http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmedia...=DAXON...AZ3%20 kind of hit or miss what's running in the background that might be interfering? -
according to Liggy, the nec firmware guru that drive is http://www.sonynec-optiarc.eu/en/exhibits/...s/ad-7540a.html but do yourself a favor and save that drive for essential tasks and get an external one for everyday burning those internals are hard to replace and configure properly and almost impossible to flash safely dvd burners in a laptop were a very bad idea
-
not sure about corny's link but the latest firmware(2004) only supports these mid codes and I don't see those 16x dvd-r's at all http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmedia...20MAG.%20AM3%20 since they didn't come out until a full year after that firmware like LuK said buy a new burner 10c_rpc1_speedsettings.txt

back on topic the firmware you installed/updated only tell the dvd burner how to burn different blanks the drivers windows uses for optical drives are all native(part of) to the operating system the ide controller may have a special driver or use one that's part of/supplied by windows http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html this program has a sensor report under the computer part that shows the voltages on your system a 98 power supply is asking for trouble, but then again usually you burn them up just burning cd's too fast having another dvd burner to test with, would save a lot of hassle/time/trouble the voltages will look like this mine are pretty stable
-
the clubs and dj's are mostly just using laptops and/or computers you might ask around over at cdfreaks
-
dvd+r9 means dual layer try with some verbatim and burn at 2.4x no you cannot use 2 cd's or even 2 single layer dvd's
-
karaoke cd+g are like music cd's on steroids, not only do you have the problem of tracks(Imgburn doesn't support yet), but the graphics are in a hidden sub track, then your burner has to support even that everyone seems to be switching to digital, mp3+g
-
the pioneer drives are totally unsuited for error scanning, so much so that recent versions of cdspeed have blocked their use for that a disk read graph is probably fine
-
do you still have it slaved to an inferior drive? old power supply? old cables? did you get a good load on windows xp? everything else fine? drivers?
-
Blutach wasn't saying there was anything wrong with those disks, just that old a drive(especially with that firmware) doesn't like them
-
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...=en&lang=en nothing to lose trying to update the firmware
-
that dvd burner first came out 4 1/2 years ago, that's almost prehistoric rather than waste time and blanks I would suggest a new drive
-
what's your motherboard and chipset controlling that sata dvd burner?
-
You would have gotten it all on your own sooner or later, not often we see that, hope it all works, that burner is getting pretty old, but those are the best to play with and learn on.
-
let's investigate further put a blank in with imgburn open, post the right hand windows contents
-
The Proof Is In The Pudding do a burn, have verify on, post the log everything else is idle speculation/chit chat
-
stay with 8X blanks and that older laptop/firmware combination or buy a real dvd burner
-
use the csot patched for the 1653, it has the latest mid codes in it damn good find
-
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmedia...ProdiscF02..%20 16x dvd-r I would wait for rpc1 to come back
-
it's probably not a program issue, try the drive all by itself at the end of the cable(ide) jumpered master and on the closest power connector to the power supply my nec 3550 worked great for about 18 months till it got dirty, I resurrected it with compressed air then finally tore it apart to clean my nec 3520, 40 and 50 were not the most durable drives, but they usually burned even cruddy media
-
that looks like an emachine/gateway oem version of the drive, stock firmware will not work codeguys will rpc1 has been down for the last 2-3 days tho

My point was nero does not use any filter drivers but relies on spti, older versions used nero aspi, but it was selfcontained not system wide. Now that packet writting Incd would best be described as a plague not a filter driver. Looks like the poster is leaving a lot of programs loaded all the time that don't have to be active.

what the heck, looking at this page I was shocked by the charges http://www.xmediatrade.com/content.php?tpl=shipping I had been under the impression that after all the talk of common market, european union that the medieval nationalism protectionism was gone and trade barriers were being lowered 30Euro duty to switz, extra charges for ireland, guess it was all talk
