the 2 or 3 raidmax's I have seen had issues within a year or few months
they claim +12V@28A but Hold-up Time >10ms at full load
whereas the coolmax(not that good a brand) +12V1@18A, +12V2@18A
they would be a little more conservative

the connectors tell a lot too
I would go with a 2.6 windsor or even a 2.5 brisbane core, the 6000 is pushed to it's limits already with heat and power issues
better power supply
since you are using 4 ide's you will need a good power supply

compare to the raidmax power

I would suspect that the flash update got hosed, I doubt it was the firmware used but the technique and the way the hardware is configured
I prefer to flash with the dvd burner as standalone master on the secondary ide(if there are 2) in safe mode so I can be sure the drive is in pio not dma(those durn liteons go to dma 4).
2-3-3-6 should be stock spd at 400 for corsair xms?
I couldn't get any overclock out of my cas 2 ddr 400 ram, but then I was pushing the durn HT too high
from the tests I have seen, adding the extra L2 to the windsor core gave neglible performance increases, amd's onboard memory controller is very efficient already.
@Blu,
is your cas 2 ram running at stock mem frequency with the 25% OC to fsb?
ran into some references to changing from 1T command rate to 2T to enable pushing the fsb/mem freq envelope further
have you applied the chipset inf patch/driver?
it's fairly new
also have you updated vista, there were some patches to address that legacy ide driver
there's another strange setting in power management acpi for ide/raid
just to test I would have the pioneer as master with the other drive disconnected(power and pata cable)
make sure the dvd burner is connected to a power lead that goes straight to the power supply
the log shows 1,0,0
screenshot shows 1,1,0
are the jumpers correct on the optical drives
master for top drive at end of cable and slave for middle of cable?
there are new inf drivers for that mobo
2 hard drives, 2 dvd burners, all on seperate cables, standalone masters
sata or pata doesn't really matter
same iso or different ones neither
8x works fine
one hard drive, one iso still has to be read twice, and 4X is about all she wrote
drive read heads are working their butt off
I am the idiot that told everyone during the first gulf conflict that this had nothing to do with OIL
conclusion, everything the house of bush and saud does has to do with oil
color me pinko michael moore
I just saw this problem with your log chewy...
you don't think I would chance one of my last verbatims in an 8x cof test do you?
sh!te I even forgot to lower the burn speed to 4x

of course the purpose of the thread was not burn as fast as possible, but to have good burns in a timely manner
