  1. Perform full scan
    Oppps

go for the quick one, it will concentrate on the registry and shell stuff

if you have had something bad enough then damage might have been done to your system and a repair disk is necessary

    1. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to a convenient location.
    2. Double click on mbam-setup.exe to install it.
    3. Before clicking the Finish button, make sure that these 2 boxes are checked (ticked):
      • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
        Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

[*]Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now check for updates. If your firewall prompts, please allow it. If you can't update it, select the Update tab. Under Update Mirror, select one of the websites and click on Check for Updates.

[*]Select the Scanner tab. Click on Perform full scan, then click on Scan.

[*]Leave the default options as it is and click on Start Scan.

[*]When done, you will be prompted. Click OK, then click on Show Results.

[*]Checked (ticked) all items and click on Remove Selected.

[*]After it has removed the items, Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply. You can also find the log in the Logs tab. The bottom most log is the latest.

  4. Does a Format need a full erase on a blank virgin disc?

    only on rw's

It's similar to a floppy disk, you can try and use one without a full format first, it's more likely to screw up

  5. Also, I'm sorry Chewie, but can you clarify what you mean by ritekF1?

that's the mid code of your blanks, it's where we find out if you are using good ones or bad ones

you asked what you might have been doing wrong?

with verbatim or taiyo yuden disks we could pretty well eliminate bad blanks as your problem and concentrate on other possibilities

  6. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....mp;Order=RATING

here are the ones that will most likely give you trouble on an aentry or older mid level motherboard from too low a vdimm

to get that kind of performance takes more power

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227271

this will take a very good motherboard

now that makes me want to upgrade

Pros: EPP Profile indicates 3-4-4-15-2T at 2.4v but these modules will do so much more. They'll actually run those timings with 1T at stock speed, or carry CAS3 all the way up to 475Mhz. Was able to use 4-5-5-12 up to 560Mhz and my CPU ran out of headroom. They love the voltage but will overclock very high with tight timings.

Cons: 2.4 volts may not be available on all boards. Modules stay pretty cool at idle but when running high loads definitely recommend active cooling.

Other Thoughts: Half the price or less of some DDR2-1100+ rated, dual-channel kits

  7. probably cas 5 ram that likes 1.8, you are fine with intel if you don't overclock a lot and shorten the longer intel pipline

you did good, if you had amd64 with onboard memory controller(short memory pipeline) then cas 5 would hurt performance

    must be SIL this time

  8. never try to burn with battery power low even if plugged into ac power

even the successful burn scanned worse than mediocre media like cmc mag

  9. these drives are new and relatively untested

and now will be discontinued since HD has been abandoned

I coastered my first verbatim in a long while with my toshiba hd combo dvd burner I am working on, won't waste another good blank of this POS

  10. the toshiba I am working on comes with a big leaflet which says, if it breaks call us tollfree, do not return to store

    looks like your laptop broke

to play hd disks made after july 2007, I have to flash the bios and load a certain video driver and download a huge new player package?

    what's the point?

I have already suggested that my client switch to an external dvd burner with proper support
