yup don't show again
-
you changed the cable yet
BTW even if that those disc's had not failed to burn they would not work as you need to be setting the book type to DVD-ROM for them to work on your 360 , unless there is some new thing I have not read about which allows +R .
You will be better off buying a new burner IMO a pioneer 115/116
-
look for a firmware update to your drive. If you cannot find one try using MKM-001-00 verbatim and then buy a new burner if they still don't work.
Maybe try changing your ide cable as well try an 80 wire one or a new 80 wire one if you are already using 80 wire cable.

right click on your drive name in ImgBurn and check for firmware updates and see if the above link is the same

I mean check all your hard drives for errors in windows
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265
this bit Manual steps to run Chkdsk from My Computer or Windows Explorer
Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the hard disk that you want to check.Click Properties, and then click Tools.
Under Error-checking, click Check Now. A dialog box that shows the Check disk options is displayed,
Use one of the following procedures:
To run Chkdsk in read-only mode, click Start.
To repair errors without scanning the volume for bad sectors, select the Automatically fix file system errors check box, and then click Start.
To repair errors, locate bad sectors, and recover readable information, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
Note If one or more of the files on the hard disk are open, you will receive the following message:
The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed by restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule the disk check to occur the next time you restart the computer?
Click Yes to schedule the disk check, and then restart your computer to start the disk check.
maybe change sata cable / change the port and see how sata is setup in bios - if AHCI mode or AUTO then maybe try emulated IDE.
-
now that your drive picks up media at the correct speeds 2.4x 4x 8x 10x etc use 2.4 or 4x.
Scan all the hard rives for errors and tick box to auto fix folder file system errors only.
-
Mirror 8 is the new Mirror 7 - it moved up one.
Like fashion - I am getting left behind :lol
yeah get it from ImgBurn Host
-
I briefly read the above.
Scan your hard drives for errors use basic check eg files folders checking. Defrag also
also unplug your external usb hard drive and try (as well as checking all your external usb 2 hard drives are indeed working in that mode and have not switched to 1.1) very slow (check device manager and EHCI of usb devices look out for unknown device as well)
re download from mirror 7 and install after checkign for virus below etc
try a scan with MBAM and do a virus check with your anti virus program also check to make sure any update from your anti virus is not slowing down things

Find a thicker skin whilst you're at it.
-
Time for a newer drive then if you have tried a cleaning disc or see if you can find some 8x media like Taiyo Yuden TYG02 or some older 4x media
-
Have you tried @8x ?
-
Probably wise to get a new writer or you are going to have to buy OLD media that was designed to work on your writer, as all the latest media is going to be hit n miss (8x) would be best on the latest disc's to try
(so try to burn 1 @8x and see what happens) then look to buy a new (modern) writer.
Search google to find one that will meet your needs and stay away from HP/Iomega/memorex/mad dog/ type drives and pick a pioneer or optiarc or samsung

Arrr he does not know Mummy's password, bless.

Laserfan try answering the same question 1,000 times + with the correct long 3 paragraph answer when you have not got it already typed out ready to paste and see how long it is before your answer becomes short and to the point.
Now stop being a dick by responding with
Not helpful. Non-responsive. Anyone else here that actually knows anything about these? Finally, a helpful post!!! Thanks Guzeppi! No thanks at all, mmalves and blutach and dontasciime! Good grief, I learned that "you get what you pay for" when I was 6 years old! I was asking the question because I didn't know the answer, nor was there any info here whatsoever based on my "Search" effort. So now I know, Philips is made by CMC, which sucks. Ok, I get it, tho there still seems some uncertainty about this i.e.
>Strangely I can't find any info on their newer, DL specs
Thanks again, Guzeppi, for helping. Hey LUK, are you paying mmalves and blutach and dontasciime to chase your customers away!!??? They're doing a good job...
I did thank you in advance but if you care that much buy some and tell us how you get on. We had to do that at our cost, so as to save you the time and expense.
You have already been told for dual layer consistent burning there is only 1 choice - Verbatim, which you say you knew already.
So you like to argue or to try and cause them ? find somewhere else that will oblige but did you pay for the 5 minute argument or the half hour one ?
And BTW just so you know it's not us it's you. Plus no one is selling anything.
You also seemed happy enough with the advice given by Mmalves + Blutach etc last time when you asked a more sensible question http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?act=Sea...ult_type=topics
-
At Fry's retail stores, though this price is not shown on their website here.
I know we all worship at the throne of Verbatim when it comes to DL discs, but I wonder if anyone here has tried these discs, or maybe knows who the OEM for them is, and whether they're worth considering?
Buy 1,000 and let us know, thanks.

or dodgy xp copy already infected
-
The moral of this story is to stay away from so called Top name media eg( Sony) and buy better disc's in future.
-
Did you not do a Little research before buying that drive ?
Get yourself an external pioneer 115/116 if using laptop (stay away from emachines gear) and for internal use just get a 115/116 for 360 backups

To set DVD-ROM on a pioneer drive you will need to modify the firmware for the Pioneer drive and single layer +R (if dual layer +r it AUTO sets to DVD-ROM)
However (your question is more likely to revolve around) you are wanting to treat the disc like DVD-RAM and ImgBurn does not support multi session.
Usb pens are very cheap now so either use DVD-RAM or a memory card/usb flash pen etc

LMAO
Naughty LIGHTNING UK! How dare you post on your own forum about the program you OWN and maintain for FREE.

Changed/Fixed: When running Win 9x and the (default) Tahoma font is not available, the substituted GUI font was pretty awful! Now it'll attempt to use the system default (probably 'MS Sans Serif') if that's the case.
it will use MS Sans Serif though is that not what you said you had been using
