  6. whats listed under ide/atapi controllers in device manager ?
  7. Dunno why all mobo manufacturers are going down this route, nforce5/6 Intel 965/975, i think Ati new chipset is the same. It's like they think the ide is a bottleneck, well if it is and i seriously doubt it, i will put up with it, I want 4 ide and 10 sata1/2 (i would settle for 8 sata1/2) I hope that gigabyte board is faster than their ****** servers ffs 6k a second for a 7 meg file. make sure your using latest chipset drivers for mobo as well. Storage ICH8R Southbrigde - 1 FDD connector supported by I/O controller, allowing connection of 1 FDD device - 6 SATA 3Gb/s connectors (SATAII0, SATAII1, SATAII2, SATAII3, SATAII4, SATAII5), allowing connection of 6 SATA 3Gb/s devices - Supports data striping (RAID 0), mirroring (RAID 1), striping + mirroring (RAID 0+1), RAID 5, and RAID 10 for Serial ATA GIGABYTE SATA2 Controller - 1 IDE connectors with UDMA 33/ATA 66/ATA 100/ATA 133 support, allowing connection of 2 IDE devices - 2 SATA 3Gb/s connectors (GSATAII0, GSATAII1), allowing connection of 2 SATA 3Gb/s devices - Supports data striping (RAID 0), mirroring (RAID 1) and JBOD for Serial ATA
  8. Cheers. I will stick with 2.4 for a little while, so that my 360 backups work, then increase upto 4, then stick them in my benq other liteons and pioneers to try.
  9. have you got your burner and a hard drive on that one ide 80 wire. You would be better off setting burner to master and using sata hard drives. These new motherboards with one ide are IMO stupid. My MSI 975x pue has only one ide so i have my burner as master and a reader on there the rest of my hard drives are all sata, and i just stuck in a sata samsung /tosh/ shd163a (cough) One ide is not good enough for me, though more and more sata roms/writers are appearing still, in non raid sata 1,2 is not much faster than ide. Maybe your burner has had it or the board just does not like it, have you got an external caddy you could stick drive in and burn via usb2 to test drive etc. Not sure if there is another ide on that board eg a third party one, jbmicron do see to get the job when a 3rd party ide is required, as mentioned make sure your mb bios is updated to a stable one, look out for any other bioses for 3rd party ide etc) i think in your mobo though its dedicated to southbridge ich8r.
  10. Anyone tried burning them @4x as my liteon indicates 2.4X and 4X, I am asking specifically for the 360, thanks I also got some a-one (well a pack of 10 just to see if i could get away with them ( Ricoh dye )

    help

Which option in cdrwin, extract sectors etc. Have i got the right version 4.0c Also you say from mp3 to audio , these have to be stored on cd (the mp3) so you got say clubmix 10 which you ripped to mp3, then when you play them back from a playlist they stutter at change over from track 1 to 2, you then pass them thru cdrwin and recreate and audio cd from the mp3s and its like you had just copied the cd on the fly etc, no audible stutters between tracks.
  14. If the original you put in is bootable so should the copy, if not your drive or bios/both is picky and try it in another drive.

    help

I assume your talking about a mixed CD, eg song 1 plays into song 2. This can be tricky to fix, especially as they have been converted to mp3. I have a sort of fix, as this annoys the hell out of me, simple if you just CD copy to CD copy. Awkward when they have been ripped to mp3. This is how I do this. OK get hold of winamp any version if you already have it, should all be the same, (if you use winamp to play your mp3s though, you will need to uninstall it after i tell you what to change as reverting back to settings used b4 i told you what to change will not make it run normally anymore) OK open winamp/ right click on winamp window/ choose/options/preferences. Goto plugins at bottom choose output, then highlight Nullsoft disk writer plugin at right. Configure it a new window will open, tick the single file mode box, click file and choose where to output it to, then click format and choose 44.100 16 bit stereo/ then click OK. You can now close options. On winamp look for clear playlist, clear it if there is one. OK, now you have 16 tracks, They need to be sorted in order eg track 1 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 etc. Add them to winamps playlist in order (do not press play on any of them at this stage) Once you have added them all and are sure that they are in order as it can be picky when adding all at once, If you choose to do it this way. Anyway once all in order etc, press play, this will then combine them all into 1 WAV(you will hear no output at this stage). Once like this you can then burn the wav to cd as in to make an audio CD, Imgburn will not do this though. You should try http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ think its free and 30 day trial for the mp3 bit. Or you could just use Nero to build audio CD. Or convert the wav to mp3, This will only make 1 track though and you will not be able to skip to next song other than fast forwarding etc. If done right you will not notice any skip etc between where the tracks used to link together. Some work better than others though. Also remember you will not be able to play music from winamp without re installing it. Edit will sound dodgy if you did not add them in the correct order they would have played from original CD
  16. Open Nero (not smart start one), then if the wizard starts , click cancel. put your xp CD into DVD reader, click on extras at top, then choose save tracks, and choose the reader you put CD into when Nero asks which one. Choose output to ISO. Browse to where you want to save ISO to and choose a name for it. Click on options at bottom click read speed and choose 24X. Then press go. Then burn the ISO with imgburn
  17. not the smartest of technicians then. Reinstall a clean xp and the chipset drivers for your motherboard and that will rule out if your drive is faulty the disc's etc
  18. yeah jvc have been saying that for some time now, I think I will believe it when I see it. Thanks I read this early in 2006 http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/01/05/jv...ayer_dvd-rw_q2/

  21. you recently had a bad shutdown on that computer ? I would maybe try right click on each drive choose properties tools, check now and tick top box only (automatically fix file system errors) may as well do this on all the partitions or hard drives you have connected, C and the partition your page file is on will need to scan on restart though. I would also try going into C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and delete all the files inside this folder, not the folder though. Also C:\Documents and Settings\Ascii\Local Settings\Temp obviously ascii will be your name or whatever you account is called etc. Delete the files in there. also you could delete the files in the recent folder. you will need to have hidden files showing though. I would even try re creating the page file if all else failed, and download imgburn again. After downloading again, switch off any anti virus you have to try and install, make sure to switch it back on right after b4 browsing or anything else. Also maybe think about looking at another anti virus solution and updating that and do a full scan of computer.
  22. did you get Imgburn from authors website or one of the mirrors ? also you admin on that xp machine. or have you got some software in that denies registry entries.
