My first guess would be that you need to have administrative privilege to the system...but I could be wrong.

Go back and reread post number 2 if cleaning it doesn't work. The drive doesn't recognize the disc, there is very little if anything you can do for that problem except go to a different dye type.

Memorex is crap....period...this batch was made using dye since the brand is simply rebadged from one manufacturer to sell as another brand, Do yourself a favor and try either Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs. Since it's DL you want Verbatim (Made in Singapore if at all possible since their other countries of origin are getting a bad reputation also.

If you break compliance with the dvd standard, which it appears you are asking how to do, it won't work. You will have to Google for some program that will allow you to copy certain areas of a possibly protected disc and, while we do not discuss piracy here, I can't think of any potential program that will allow you to do it.
