Demonic; It doesn't matter one bit what the name brand is that is on the disc, the part that matters is the disc MID or Media I D...Yours is located here: Your disc is made using dye from CMC Magnetics, one of the absolute worst of the worst on the market. Get some Verbatim discs or put up with a failure rate that exceeds your farthest imagination.

The discs are booktyping at DVD-ROM. Your media choice is crap. Your drive doesn't recognize the actual speeds of the disc MID, slowest for these is 2.4X. If you are going to continue to use the Ritek's, look for a newer firmware.

Are you going by what Windo$e reports, or did you follow the steps in the FAQ?

macman; Seriously, get rid of those discs and get some good ones. The reason I am saying this is because 1 good burn out of 3 or 4 makes the discs you are using the most expensive in the world, and the errors thrown by the media may be masking other problems that are there and we can't see them due to the media messing with everything..

Your burner is quite aged as of now and many improvements have been initiated since it was built in 2005. Your choice of media is purely crap. We recommend using Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (Made in Singapore) to do the job correctly.

It's a scam, not real, fake, lie, deception, untruth, basic bullshit that you, along with many others, fell for within the past two weeks or so. ImgBurn is freeware, available at the site that Loco referred you to. Demand your $ back from the asshole that scammed you, but don't show us some attitude because we didn't do it, have never done it and will never do it...

Your burner is getting kind of old, but there is a UYS4 firmware out for it. Open ImgBurn, right click on your Sony and click on 'check for firmware updates' in the drop down menu and see if that helps.

I don't do games, but you can't put 7lbs of crap into a 5 lb bag anywhere that I know of. Have you tried a Verb DL disc?

Yes, it is strange, but something we see all the time. Then it varies between batches of discs made in a single day by the manufacturer. The variables are sometimes mind blowing.

That's the way it is with the media choice you have made. It's unreliable and probably the source of most of the problems we solve here on the board.

Then please explain to me why: 1. You need help since you obviously have your own IT department. 2. Your drive doesn't read the disc? What's dads' opinion of that?
