Can someone tell me what kind of DVD-R IMGBurn will read?
spinningwheel replied to ZF911's topic in ImgBurn Support
ImgBurn doesn't really 'read' anything, your drive does the 'reading' of the disc. ImgBurn just tells it what to do with what it 'sees' on the disc. I believe if my drive could not read a disc when an identical machine with the same manufactured drive could, I would dump my drive and buy a new one, unless the machines are stiull under warranty, then I would have the place I bought it from make things right. spinner -
When was it fixed?

No it's not! We really are here to assist with ImgBurn problems, make suggestions to try to assist users and run Beta tests on the in-process improvements of the program. We also lean back, have a beer or coffee and look at other posts and try to assist with the problems/suggestions/notions that a lot of our posters propose without taking ourselves, or the users, too seriously and while having a little fun with each other and with the users. You happened to make a suggestion that prompted a lot of response, and, as you grew more intense in your insistence and posting prose, we began to have more and more fun with you. There is nothing sacred or secret about the program, it is LUK's baby, it's not available for open source, and we are the ones he trusts with the caring and nurturing of his brain-child. LUK's response, in the case of most users, would have let them know that he's not interested, at this time, in the suggestion. You missed that and continued on with your reasoning and that opened the door to the length of this thread and several of the responses you received in response to your responses. So sit back, have a beer or whatever refreshment appeals to you, and watch and wait for the next 'fly' to enter the web...I do, and it's entertaining while you learn about this great program and its' awesome capabilities. spinner

NO, it doesn't convert anything. YES, once you use a program, such as one of those suggested here, to convert it to burnable form. Get DVDFlick...Start it...Point it at your file...Start it... When it has done its' thing...close DVDFlick...Start ImgBurn...Drag over the file Flick created...push the Burn button...Verify the burn...voila...done deal. If there is a problem, post the log along with your question(s).

Look in: Help>log to find your logfile. I/O errors are caused by your firmware/media/drive not playing nice together. Post the log or generate another one and post it and we can get a better idea of the nature of the problem.

ImgBurn can burn any .iso or .cue that you have on your HDD. The problem that yo9u have is you need to Google exactly what you want to do and then read a lot about what you want to do. We have NOTHING to do with ripping protected data from discs and we do not discuss that phase of activity here. Also, call your credit card company and click-bank and advise them that you are contesting the charge that you made due to false advertising/claims from the seller.

Nimrod; I spent some time on Google about this today and it seems that you might want to try some different media. I know what we recommend, but it really looks like Verbs and your system don't get along very well. I have never recommended all this before, and can't guarantee that it will work but here is what I would try: Use 'End It All 2' to stop all but the necessary processes and programs on your system. Halt any music playing or Internet access or background activity. Turn off ZoneAlarm and whatever you're using for firewall and virus/malware scan since you have already scanned the torrent data you're trying to burn. ..I hope Start ImgBurn. Reset ImgBurn to default settings. Put in a disc. Hit the Burn button and see what happens with a clean machine running nothing but minimal processes and ImgBurn. This is what I got out of reading everything at CD Freaks, AfterDawn and the other sites. Good Luck.

And...ImgBurn doesn't copy anything that is protected in any manner. And...ImgBurn is donationware and, if you bought it, you got screwed and should get your money back. And...You can Google what you want to do and you will find that there are many links out there for that. And...Shen 293 is right. And... We do not discuss ripping here, so, once you figure out how to get an .iso to your hdd, use ImgBurn to create the disc. And...if you have a problem with the burn, feel free to ask us what to do about it, and remember to post a log of the failure with your request.

Please post a log from the failed burn.

It all depends on the percentage of the shrink and what you want to preserve; and yes it will work with ImgBurn. For further details use Google, this is the ImgBurn board after all, there are many good forums out there with dedicated DVD Shrink topics.

Nope.

Right on Put your Iso on a dual layer Verbatim disc ( made in Singapore) and all will be well. If you prefer you can Google 'shrink a dvd9 to a dvd5' and find that there are other avenues for you to pursue. spinner
