  1. If you finally managed to get one to create correctly, then you found the combination that works, albeit for a while, on the configuration you now have. Using the same media that failed and getting a good burn occasionally is not a celebratory happening. ...it's just setting you up for the disappointment that comes when you pop in the next poor quality disc. We test thousands of discs here, more than the usual user will burn in their lifetime, and only recommend the best solutuion.
  2. Crap media, crap media, crap media....
  3. If they still RMA them I would keep sending them back...however it might be a better move to just buy another drive and end the frustration...
  4. Post a log. I/O errors generally suggest that your media/firmware/optical drive are not playing nicely together...but you could have found that out by using the 'search' function also.
  5. I think that I would use Google and look for something that would shrink the size of my DVD....
  6. Can't wait to read her reply to this one..... As a married man you should already have such a list.
  7. Read this about that.
  8. OK... toss the drive and pick up an external one. The prices are really depressed now and a lot of the online suppliers have them on sale.
  9. It could also be this crappy media.
  10. Obviously the drive isn't reading the disc entirely correct, check for a firmware update and make sure the Verbs are from Singapore.
  11. ...and if your 'par' files are on the area of the disc that goes South? Seems like a decent enough idea, but it has no proven background since it's new in concept. How does this help ImgBurn stay 'lean and mean' without some history as to its' usefulness? spinner
  12. Can't wait to read her reply to this one.....

  14. Then I guess the best advice would be to follow what we advise anyway and, while burning, shut down unnecessary processes. I use EndItAll2 to shut down mostly everything not necessary to the burn process because, when I burn, a non-failing burn is the most important thing I want to accomplish at the time.
  15. Does the MajicJack do what it promises?
  16. Check your firmware version against what you can find at the manufacturers website for your burner. Post a log from the failures.
  17. There is not a hard concept involved here. Ritek, CMC, Ricoh, Falcon and others are crap. Even if they work for you now, at a 50% failure rate, the fact that they will delam or loose data in the future is damn near assured. If you're getting a 50/50 success to failure rate, double the cost of the crappy Riteks and then compare the cost to Verb DL's in terms of media, time and frustration...simple math and common sense...
  18. There most certainly is a difference and all that we, ie those that burn much more than occasionally, can add is refer to this HERE! and ignore others who don't know what they are talking about.
  19. As a backup to what donta wrote... no one gets deleted around here unless what they wrote is really improper or is intended to start a flame war.
  20. Hint: That's why there is a topic called'Chat'

  22. Hi eagle777 and welcome to the forum. We don't rip/copy protected data...if that's what you want...maybe I don't understand your suggestion or you haven't read the guides, faq's and used the search function..... edit...beaten to it again....
