Hi and welcome to the forum gimme5; Your drive is a well known problem in and of itself, they are not known for their dependability or quality. I would suggest that you try the burn again on either Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus media.

Cath; Shut off internet access...Run CrapCleaner, both on system and registry. It'll offer to backup the registry but I've used it for years and it never has caused a problem....then goto my computer, pick the HDD you store internet craploa on, then to documents and settings, then your folder, then local settings, then you hand clean the temp, temp internet and history folders of anything left. Then goto control panel, internet options and run the windows system cleaners. Sounds like a lot of steps, but it works... spinner

Cath; I agree w/polo . Stay clear of the situation and be your brothers friend as well as relative. If she's computer literate and he's not on par w/her , he'll eventually get burned. However, if you're willing to go for it...remember that there are NO safe warez sites. ALL programs coming from them have to be looked at as being minimally trojans and some of the crap that they have hidden inside is downright evil. I haven't had the need for this sorta stuff in a while ...so I really don't know what's out there in the world of keyloggers/auto-screen capture/spyware or other programs anymore...PM me if you want a site recommendation or two, but remember that I warned you. spinner

If you already have an image on your hdd ImgBurn will burn it correctly. ImgBurn will not circumvent copy protection.

Blu; I agree, jump drives and personal HDD's are coming fast. Google has 16 Gb jump drives at $175.00 with larger ones on the horizon. I won't invest in the current crop of mega storage devices until I get my next system, which may be a couple years off depending on my current machines health between now and then. I believe that the manufacturers are doing the same thing with the current media types that they did with the whole home DVD market. They split it between + and- R and screwed the pooch in the process. HD and BR are looking to be the same mistake. They are not making enough $ producing and marketing their products, they want control of the final bit of profit all the way down to the media it's sold on and the system it's played on. spinner
