  1. It says 'Book Type Setting: N/A' because ImgBurn tries the standard Plextor booktype command, which doesn't work on your re-badged Lite On. If you get success when manually doing the booktypíng via the Lite On tab then it should be correctly burned to the media. What kind of media are you using by the way?
  2. Your burner doesn't like the blanks you're using. You could try burning at 2.4x, but it would be better if you used Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  3. You can also burn directly to disc (look in our Guides section), unless you want the ISO file for something else. WinRAR associates itself with the .iso file extension so that's why it's opening the file when you double-click it.
  4. I've seen similar MID with EMTEC and Nipponic DVD-R blanks over here, both rated 8x and they're some of the cheapest crap you can buy, if that helps
  5. That's pretty much all you can do besides buying a new SATA burner.
  6. You didn't say which version of Windows you're using. Have you installed these drivers?
  7. Your burner is old and doesn't like the media you're using. Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks (preferably the 8x ones).
  8. Yup -> http://lmgtfy.com/?q=DTS+to+AC3
  9. Did you let it verify the burn? If so what was the result?
  10. It's really difficult. In fact, we even had to write a guide for doing it
  11. The 'no additional sense' error is usually caused by bad drivers, but in your case it seems like an USB issue (not rare unfortunately). Is the drive connected to an USB port at the back of the computer or on the front? Is it connected to an USB hub? Have you tried another USB cable? The most likely reason that it hasn't failed before is that it's erroring out on the very step where DVD+R DL media is different than others: setting the layerbreak position.
  12. Without a disc in the drive ImgBurn has no way of knowing what kind of disc you'll be burning.
  13. If cleaning and/or burning at 4x doesn't solve your problem then you should start looking for a new burner
  14. It's probably the media you're using. Have you tried burning at 4x? You could try cleaning the burner's lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol or using one of those lens cleaning disc kits, but it would be much better if you could try with the Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blanks.
  15. Select one of the available layerbreaks then click the Preview button.
  16. Try their LiveUpdate program then (close all other programs before running it and it'll probably ask you to reboot after updating). Plug the burner on other SATA ports to see if it helps. You might also want to try using another SATA cable with it, just to rule it out.
  17. Look for updated drivers for your motherboard's chipset or SATA controller (use SIW to find their brand/model if you don't already know).
  18. Have you recently reinstalled Windows or messed with the storage drivers? Which firmware version does your burner have?
  19. Install this (reboot if asked) then install this (also reboot if asked). Also make sure you're using the latest BIOS for your motherboard (2.6).
  20. Are you sure it's I/OMagic? Looks like a Lite On burner to me. Have you tried that burner on another computer? That error seems like an incompatibility between your computer's USB chipset and the enclosure's USB chipset. Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). The firmware you're trying to flash is this one? Could you try the firmware update using another computer? As a last resort I guess you could take the drive out of the external enclosure and plug it into a desktop computer to apply the update.
  21. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again with a brand new blank disc. If it doesn't work then you can try a lens cleaning disc on your burner to see if it helps, or you could try using the Verbatim blanks, preferably the 2.4x ones.
  22. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again at 16x or 24x. If it still doesn't work then try with Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs, or, at the very least, any disc other than CMC Magnetics
  23. If it can't burn the best dual-layer media available on the market then, in my book, it's dead. It could very well be due just to dirt on the lens, and that's where the lens cleaning disc comes in.
  24. What's the brand and model of your motherboard or SATA controller where the burner is connected to? Use SIW if you don't know them.
  25. Post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). Also describe in detail what happens when you try to burn a dual-layer disc.
