  1. Is it an internal or external burner? What did you do just before it started saying that? Have you rebooted or turned the computer off?
  2. Please post the complete log of the burn as the piece you posted is missing some important information.
  3. If it does that when using Verbatim blanks then your burner is dying.
  4. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  5. It means your burner doesn't support or doesn't like the media you're using. Does it support dual-layer media? To find out right-click on the burner's name and choose Capabilities in any of ImgBurn's modes.
  6. Follow this guide, use your XP folder as the source, go to the Bootable Disc tab as the guide says and, instead of extracting from an original disc, get the bootable image file here: it's called wxpboot.zip and you'll need to extract it before using. Select the extracted boot image file and fill out the fields just like the screenshot in the guide (Sectors to Load = 4 is the most important bit so make sure you did it right).
  7. Try the latest nForce drivers.
  8. Clean the burner's lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol or using a lens cleaning disc kit, and if that doesn't help then read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  9. Is it plugged directly on the computer? i.e. no USB hubs/etc. Have you tested it with HD Tune or similar benchmarks?
  10. It's windows' Control Panel and you can usually find it in the Start menu/orb thingy.
  11. That isn't the latest firmware. Anyway, you're having a semaphore timeout error, which is usually caused by an incompatibility between your motherboard's USB chipset and the external drive's USB chipset. Search this forum for semaphore timeout and you'll find lots of suggestions on how to fix it. Also try burning at 4x or 6x next time. //edit too slow
  12. When burning an ISO image I don't think you can check the Seamless flag. You'll have to copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the original DVD to your HD then follow this guide to burn it to dual-layer media (you'll be able to change the Seamless flag this way).
  13. And what's the problem with that? The slowest speed doesn't necessarily result in a better quality burn, especially on new burners like the 7240S. Post the log of the most recent dual-layer burn you've made (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  14. What's the problem? Didn't you see a message from ImgBurn asking you to close the drive's tray for the verify process?
  15. How old is that burner? Is it still under warranty? Could you try with Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs? It seems weird that it can't burn CDs, but then again I have a similar model of the same brand and it died for CD media a few months ago
  16. ImgBurn's Build mode doesn't have that option, but if you can set all the *.scc files to hidden then they won't be included by default.
  17. That burner should booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM by itself, so you don't need to worry about that. Post the log of the most recent failed burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  18. Your burner doesn't like those blanks, so please read the link LUK posted above. Also leave Verify enabled as that's what ensures the disc was correctly burned.
  19. Switch to advanced input mode, add your files/folders (you can also drag and drop them) and you can even re-arrange them to your liking
  20. Use 7-Zip/WinRAR/etc. to look inside ISO images. Alternatively, you can also mount ISO images to a virtual drive with Virtual CloneDrive.
  21. Try burning at 4x. You might also want to clean the burner's lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol or using a lens cleaning disc kit.
  22. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning at 16x or 24x.
  23. Try burning at 6x. Also clean the burner's lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol, or one of those lens cleaning disc kits. If all that doesn't help then read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  24. Please read the pink banner at the top of this page, i.e. post the log (look in ImgBurn's Help menu)
  25. His burner may have better support for the dye/ink used in those blanks, or maybe his batch has slightly better quality than yours (you saw this by yourself with the disc from a different pack).
