The most likely cause of the freeze is the quality of the media you're using. You could try burning at 6x or 8x to see how it turns out but you'd have better results with Verbatim blanks.

I think this is the guide you should follow in order to burn your disc. If that's what you did and it doesn't work then you should post the log of that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).

I think the option should be in Advanced Chipset Features or Integrated Peripherals. It's usually called compatibility mode, SATA controller mode, SATA configuration, etc., and has the options IDE, SATA, AHCI or RAID. It should work in IDE/SATA mode (setting to AHCI or RAID will probably stop Windows XP from booting).

I couldn't find the manual for that motherboard In the BIOS, is there an option like IDE Compatibility/SATA controller mode? One that can be set to IDE Enhanced or something like that? Also install this driver for your chipset, preferably after installing service pack 3 for WinXP. It might be worth trying another SATA cable on the DVD burner, just to rule it out

Update ImgBurn. Also update your Windows XP to service pack 3. Look for the latest drivers for your motherboard's chipset and/or SATA controller (use SIW to find out brand/model). If you tell us your motherboard's brand and model we can look in the manual for possible changes in the BIOS configuration.

Then you'll need to try with other rewritables (Verbatim highly recommended) until you find one that your burner likes. You might be able to use the disc you have with a newer burner

That burner is very old and if it can't burn the best media on the market then it's as good as dead. Luckily for you a new burner is pretty cheap these days By the way, you should install service pack 3 on your Windows XP

Your burner/firmware/media combination only allows 2.4x write speed, which is also the slowest speed allowed by the DVD+R standard (i.e. there's no 1x for DVD+R (DL)). What about you tell us what exactly is the problem you're having?

ImgBurn can be run in portable mode by using the /PORTABLE command line switch (please have a look in ImgBurn's Read Me for more information).

Your drive and its firmware only support burning that media at 4x, and since it verifies OK, there's no problem there. There are other burners that can burn that media up to 8x, and it's up to the burner manufacturer and/or firmware developer to select which speed(s) will be available. What's the real problem you're having?

ImgBurn's Build mode doesn't create Audio CD images. What you could do is burn the CUE image you've created to a CD-RW then use the Read mode to create a disc image from that CD-RW.

Your burner doesn't like those blanks. You could try a lens cleaning disc on that drive but I'm not sure it'd help. Try with Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blanks and it should work

If you're going to ignore our advice then why did you come here asking for help? Those blanks must be really top quality for needing a special burner in order to work. I'm sure you didn't buy them because they were the cheapest. Silly us for using Verbatim blanks that work with any of our burners
