  2. The communication problem is still there: notice the messed up burner's name.
  3. Update your Vista to the latest service pack and look for the latest drivers for your system's chipset/storage controllers (this website or SIW might help). Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu).
  4. Tell them about that.
  5. That disc was damaged in a previous failed burn, so try with a brand new one. Also read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  6. Then use your USB burner to read your Win7 disc. Are you going to add files to the disc or do you want to copy it as is?
  7. Either your drive can't correctly read the disc or it has copy protection. You wouldn't be able to burn it anyway, as you don't have a DVD burner. You could try using another drive/computer.
  8. Try burning at 8x or 12x with a brand new blank disc.
  9. ImgBurn sends the set layerbreak command and then checks if it was correctly set, to which the burner answered OK: after this it depends entirely on the burner, its firmware and media support. The problem is that the blanks you're using are crap. Also notice that the booktype wasn't set to DVD-ROM, which not only ImgBurn does by default on Samsung burners, but the burner itself also does it. Update your burner's firmware and try burning at 6x or 8x. If that doesn't help then read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  10. Your drive is a good dual-layer burner but the dual-layer media you used was just pure crap (look here for more information).
  11. Try a lens cleaning disc in that burner, and if it doesn't help then either your blanks or your burner is damaged and will need replacement.
  12. Try this firmware update for your burner. You could also try burning at 8x or 12x. What's the brand of the blanks?
  13. By the way, there's newer firmware for your burner.
  14. Single-layer blanks are marked as DVD-R or DVD+R, while dual-layer are DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL (notice the DL for dual layer). Also single-layer blanks are cheap while dual-layer blanks are expensive.
  15. You only run the batch file once, then you run ImgBurn as usual (desktop/start menu links etc).
  16. That works too.
  17. You don't need to use dual-layer media to burn that OS disc, so use the much more reliable single-layer blanks.
  18. Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
  19. Burning at 6x or 8x and using the lens cleaning disc is pretty much all you can do to make it work, short of buying a new burner.
  20. Have you tried burning at 6x or 8x? Tried a lens cleaning disc on that burner? Where did you get that firmware version? On another note, you could try verifying that disc with another drive.
  21. Semaphore timeout errors are likely caused by an incompatibility between your system's USB chipset and the SATA-to-USB adapter's chipset. You could try finding newer drivers for your system's USB chipset (this website might help), try plugging in other USB ports, try a different USB cable if it uses one, etc. If you want more suggestions on what you can try then search this board for semaphore timeout.

  23. Look for the latest drivers for your system's chipset/storage controllers (this website might help). Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). While you're at it, you should also enable Automatic Updates to get your Vista OS updated.
  24. You can burn large files on BD media as long as they fit in the disc's capacity.
  25. The Log window is always there (unless you closed it) and the log is automatically saved everytime you close ImgBurn and it's kept under 5 thousand lines, so you don't need to worry about its size.
