  1. You'll have to open your computer and look at the label on top of the burner itself.
  2. Then you should start looking for a new SATA burner (Optiarc AD-7240S highly recommended).

  4. Open Device Manager and look for your burner under DVD/CD-ROM drives: if it has an exclamation point beside its name then there's some problem with it (double-click on it to see what Windows says about it). If it isn't there then you should look in your system's BIOS configuration and also inside the computer for loose SATA/IDE/power cables.
  5. Get Verbatim if you can, as from what I've read it's the only one that works consistently good.
  6. That's exactly the problem with dual-layer media: the quality of the batch is anyone's guess. Verbatim is the only one that keeps their qualitty and that's why they won't when others don't. Google dual-layer media quality and you'll see that it's not just us saying that. Also update to the latest firmware for your burner, as per the post spinningwheel pointed you to.
  7. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632 - single layer disc http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1780 - double layer disc When you add your VIDEO_TS folder, also add your start.exe and the autorun.inf files. You can also use Advanced Input mode for a more friendly way of doing it.

  9. We can't help with that. Have you asked Google?
  10. Yes, Verbatim CD-Rs are crap, but don't take my word for it, have a look around with Google and you'll see. The burn relies on the burner/firmware/media combination: your burner is new so that shouldn't be a problem; your firmware is the latest version, so nothing to do there; what is left is the media you're using. What speed did you burn that media at? The burn log would be useful. Also newer ImgBurn versions aren't just bug fixing, but they also add new features, so please install the latest version and preferably leave enabled the check for updates feature.
  11. You should ask that member then because we only offer support for ImgBurn and the burning process in general.
  12. Is that the original pressed disc? If so it's probably due to copy protection, and ImgBurn can't copy protected discs.
  13. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=11238 - the Search feature even works, you know...
  14. Maybe your CD player doesn't like CD-RW discs, so try with a CD-R (non-rewriteable) disc. By the way... There are firmware updates for both your SH-S223B and SH-S223C burners.
  15. Did you convert the videos with DVD Flick / ConvertXtoDVD / etc ? Post the log of the burn too.
  16. The write speed you choose can affect burn quality (the miscompare message itself is harmless).
  17. In that case, your only option is a new burner.
  18. Update ImgBurn. Try burning with Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs, or at least with Sony 52x rated CD-Rs (I've had good burns with them myself).
  19. It's probably due to copy protection and ImgBurn can't copy protected discs.
  20. Tried rebooting the computer? You could also try using Process Explorer to find and kill whatever process is holding your burner.
  21. Feel free to try other burning programs, and when they also fail, you might get the hint to use better quality media.
