  1. Please post the media information from when you're in Write mode.

  3. Don't mess with the program's settings if you don't know what they do: click the Defaults button, answer Yes then click OK to reset all of them. As for your task, you can burn directly to disc.
  4. Sounds like your burner doesn't support the blank disc you're using. What's the type and brand of your blank disc?
  5. On another note... There's newer firmware available for your burner.
  6. Try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. Try finding the 2.4x rated Verbatim DVD+R DL blanks.
  7. Yes, you'll have to close the tray manually before the Verify can start (ImgBurn will even display a message asking you to close the tray ).
  8. The USB connection was working at USB 1.1 speed. Didn't Windows show a baloon notification saying the device could work faster? You could use Verify mode on a burned disc to see if the USB connection is working in USB 2.0 mode (if it doesn't reach 1.0x then it's in 1.1 mode). I've seen that happen with a SATA to USB adapter when the external power supply was dying
  9. Also try updating your chipset/storage drivers (this website should be helpful in doing that)
  10. Try burning at 4x, 6x or 8x. Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.
  11. Read it again, and this time pay attention to it. Your burn verified OK, which means you don't have a burning problem, and, as such, you're looking for information at the wrong place.

  14. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=59&view=findpost&p=967 And your burner is DRW-1814BL, not BLT.
  15. I'd get an Optiarc AD-7240S and a cheap external enclosure to put it in. Have a look over at http://club.myce.com/ where they test a lot of burners.
  16. Use DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD or similar programs to convert your video before burning.
  17. Look for the newest drivers for your system's chipset/storage controllers (this website might help).
  18. Those blanks are rated for 8x burning and your drive only supports burning them at 2.4x, which is usually a sign of very poor support (it's probably using a generic write strategy). The one(s) you've burned before might've been good enough but not great burn quality.
  19. Your burner doesn't support the blanks you're using. You could try with the Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blanks, as per LUK's link posted above, or you'll need to get a new burner that supports the blanks you have. On another note, you should install SP2 for you Vista OS.
  20. You said yourself that even a new burner wasn't able to burn those blanks. Is it that inconceivable that the remaining blanks you have are defective? That's why I told you to try with other media: you don't need to buy a truckload of them, just a few to try them out. As for the brand, Verbatim and original/certified Taiyo Yuden blanks give the best burn quality on most burners, and that's why they can be used to test a burner, because if it isn't able to burn them then it's useless.

  22. Try burning at 4x. Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner, or even manually cleaning the burner's lens if you know how to do it. If none of that helps then try with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks (MKM-001-00 dye) or try with a new burner.
  23. Try burning at 6x or 8x. Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
