  1. The console only cares about burn quality/readability of the disc, and burning 16x media at 2x doesn't usually result in a good quality burn.
  2. You could try verifying those discs using another drive/computer to know if they're good burns or not. Anyway... Update your burner's firmware and try burning again using the faster write speeds, as that's 16x rated media after all. By the way, what's the brand of those blanks?
  3. It's probably choking on the UPX compression used in ImgBurn's executable. If this is the case then you have two options: use UPX to decompress ImgBurn.exe or disable scanning of Runtime Packers in NOD32's advanced settings.
  4. If you want to create a disc that's playable on any DVD player then you'll need to use DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD or similar programs to convert your videos before burning. If you want to just backup the videos then you should use the 'Write files/folders to disc'.
  5. Try using this website to find the latest drivers for your system because your current drivers seem to be messing up the communication with the burner. Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in the Tools menu). What's the burner's name shown in Device Manager?
  6. With ImgBurn in Write mode and the problematic disc in the burner, copy and paste here all the media information text shown in ImgBurn's main window.
  7. We don't support old versions. That media is rated for 8x burning and newer burners are better tuned for faster burns since not everyone enjoys waiting 45 minutes to burn a disc. The Verify is what tells you that the data on the disc is the same as the source image, which is crucial for the game to work correctly; but you can leave it disabled if you don't care about the game freezing randomly and losing your progress.
  8. Oh yeah, it's completely hidden from the user, even I had problems finding it By the way, you can uninstall the Ask toolbar using Add/Remove Programs (Windows 2000/XP/2003) or Program and Features (Vista/7/2008), both found in Control Panel.
  9. Update ImgBurn and try burning at 6x or 8x. Also enable Verify or you'll never know if the burn was good or not.
  10. Nope, as the drive doesn't care about the type of data being burned.
  11. Update ImgBurn. Try burning at 4x. Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner, or even cleaning the lens manually if you know how to do it. On an unrelated note, have a look here
  12. I'm using it on Windows 7 and never saw that happen. Do you get to see the splash screen? What about ImgBurn's main window?
  13. Yes Yes Verifying after burning tells you right away if the burn was indeed successful (errors/miscompares = bad burn). You can later use the Verify mode to check if the disc is still readable/the data on it is intact (see here but don't panic yet )
  14. Look for the latest drivers for your chipset and/or storage controllers (this website might help). Also try another SATA cable and other SATA ports. Also, when you're really going to burn, 8x or 12x might give you the best results

  16. Please post the log from when you've burned that CD (previous logs can be found in ImgBurn's Help menu). It could be that your player doesn't like the burn quality for the write speed you chose. And no, ImgBurn can't create disc image from .cue file: it decodes the audio files on the fly while burning. If you want create a .cue/.bin image from the tracks using another program ImgBurn can surely burn that for you.
  17. All looks normal in the log. With which player are you having this problem?
  18. Most burners automatically booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM by themselves (it's in their firmware code), so you have to: uncheck Auto 'Change Book Type' in Tools -> Settings -> Write tab (page 1) always before burning, use the Change Book Type feature to set it to Normal. From all we've seen having the booktype as DVD-ROM always helped with compatibility, and I remember only once occasion (unrelated to your case) where the booktype had to remain DVD+R DL. On another note, with ImgBurn in Write mode, please insert one of those discs burned with Magix and copy and paste here all the media information text shown in ImgBurn's main window.
  19. Have you tried burning at 8x or 6x? And with verify disabled you'll never know if the disc was a good burn or not. Also, ImgBurn sends the finalise disc command and waits for an answer from the burner, so we can only speculate that it could be sub-par quality Verbatim blanks or maybe the burner's lens are dirty.
  20. Yes -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5555 Yes -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=14158 5 minutes, was that quick enough for you?
  21. You should use the latest ImgBurn anyway because we don't support older versions. Try the lens cleaning disc, and if that doesn't help, then you'll need a new burner.
  22. Update ImgBurn. Try burning at 4x, 6x or 8x. You could also try a lens cleaning disc on that burner.
  23. Update ImgBurn. Update your burner's firmware. Enable the Verify option before burning, or you'll never know if it was a good burn or not. You might also want to try burning at 6x or 8x to see if you get a better burn quality.
  24. 1. Every day, since newer burners like yours are better tuned for faster burns, and also the Verbatim blanks you have are rated for 8x burning. 2. No, because the burner doesn't care about the data it's burning. The burn process relies on the burner/firmware/media combination: your firmware is the latest and the Verbatim media you have is good quality, so what else is left? Try cleaning the burner with a lens cleaning disc, or even manually if you know how to dissect it , and also try burning at 6x and 8x.
