  1. ImgBurn shows what your burner is "saying", and your burner thinks there's no disc inside. Have you tried with other blanks? Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks should work.
  2. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again. Also, when you have some time to spare, update your Windows XP to Service Pack 3
  3. Your burner is too old and doesn't support burning the blank discs you're using. You can buy a new one in computer shops or pretty much any online shop and they're pretty cheap these days.
  4. Use Output -> Device when you want to burn to a blank disc. Write files/folders to disc is a shortcut to this Output mode. Use Output -> Image File when you want to save it as an ISO image file, e.g. for testing on a virtual machine. Create image file from files/folders is a shortcut to this Output mode. Extract Boot Image is a feature that allows you to extract the bootable bit from a bootable disc, e.g. from a vista / win7 installation disc. If you want to extract the bootable bit from an ISO image you'll need to mount it to a virtual drive like Virtual CloneDrive, Daemon Tools, etc.
  5. Search this forum for semaphore timeout and try the suggestions you find (e.g. change cable, etc).
  6. Try burning at 8x, and if that doesn't work, then try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  7. ImgBurn doesn't do multisession discs.
  8. At http://www.google.com/ if there are any
  9. It's a possibility. When it hangs at writing lead-in, do you hear the disc spinning? Or the drive clicking/making noises?
  10. Since the verify went OK the disc is good and should play fine. If it doesn't then you should read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=12200
  11. Why did you disable BURN-Proof? Re-enable it, or better yet, hit the Defaults button and answer Yes. Burn those blanks at 8x or 6x, and have the Verify option enabled. If it doesn't work that way then use your other computer for burning because slim burners are rubbish. You could also try with Taiyo Yuden DVD-R blanks.
  12. Most burners automatically booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM by themselves. Have you ever burned DVD+R DL media with that drive before? If you have then insert that disc in the drive with ImgBurn in Write mode and look at the booktype information in the text on the right under Last Recorded.
  13. That means the firmware doesn't support the booktype command. Just to be clear, you're using the LG tab of the Change Book Type dialog, right? Does it report the current booktype when you select Change (For DVD+R DL Media)? Do you want to set the booktype to Normal or DVD-ROM?
  14. That's a LG burner and ImgBurn automatically booktypes +R media to DVD-ROM on LG burners By the way, there's newer firmware available for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  15. It isn't working now, is it? There's no magic to make it work: the burn depends on the burner/firmware/media combination.
  16. Update ImgBurn. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again. If it doesn't work at first then try burning at 6x or 8x.
  17. There should be a .dvd file that tells ImgBurn where to put the layerbreak. If there isn't one or you've deleted it, make a new one (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu) by adding that ISO image and setting the layerbreak to 1913760, or else your game won't work even with the good media.
  18. It doesn't fit on the disc. Use DVD Shrink or similar program to shrink it and then it'll fit on your 4.7GB blank disc
  19. That log is incomplete. In the Log window use Edit -> Select All to select all the lines.
  20. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again.
  21. They're in CUE/BIN format because the contents of that disc couldn't be stored as an ISO standard image, which has a few limitations that the CUE/BIN format doesn't have, and yes, you do need to keep both files.
  22. You'd have to take the burner apart if you want to clean it manually.
  23. Read again our posts, and this time pay attention. Also read the pink banner at the top of this page, especially the bit about dual-layer media.
  24. Try the other available write speeds.
  25. It verified OK so the disc should be good.
