  1. use it and prove it to yourself nobody is forcing anyone to use anything, but you won't get support from nero like you will here, directly from the guy who wrote the programme. he also wrote the other no longer mentioned programme (and i dont find that funny at all) i tried nero for dvd's and it sucked, imgburn calculates the optimal layerbreak position for me from vob files, i dont have any coasters whereas i did with nero alcohol is a good programme , but i still prefer imgburn, it does everything I want
  2. if you already have an iso then use write mode , queue them up in write mode too if you are building either an iso or writing files direct to disc then use build mode
  3. aahh ok that explains it showing as scsi then
  4. try installing the matrix storage manager drivers from here http://support.asus.com/download/download....el=P5B%20Deluxe and see if it helps see your drive as ata
  5. it should be ATA you have to find out what chipset is on your motherboard and find the newest drivers for it
  6. its what the drives firmware supports, with my TYG02's i have many different supported speeds for the same disc pioneer 111 = 12x benq 1640 = 8x plextor 716 = 16x nec 3500 = 12x all from a disc rated at 8x i only burn them at 8x and get the best results at that speed
  7. its really very easy , just make sure there is no disc in the drive , do not power down in the middle of the process, just download 2.1B and run it, it explains on screen as it flashes i wish you better luck with your new techie.
  8. check your chipset drivers too, that drive isn't scsi
  9. your firmware is quite old for that drive, try 2.1B from here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1904 why did the tech. install a mb with the wrong fsb? cant you get them to change it?
  10. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2168 does this help?

  13. cows that for skimming the cream off the breast post on the forum #39;(
  14. the benq drives report all results at once and not as separate tests, it takes under 10 mins to scan a full dvd-r
  15. you cant burn PTP on OTP media, its not physically possible , and rom has nothing to do with whether it is ptp or not PTP is parallel track path OTP is opposite track path, your sat nav reads from the inside of the disc and outwards on both layers, OTP goes from the outside and inwards on the second layer i have never seen PTP media , i don't believe it is made
  16. try another brand of discs, they cost almost nothing nowadays
  17. can you copy and paste whats written in the log up to now in your reply please?
  18. we don't support decrypter , thats a negative

  21. check your chipset drivers are the newest, your drive should be shown as ATA not SCSI, and update your firmware
  22. when you press backup in shrink choose a hdd folder instead of an iso
  23. if you use the queue feature and 2 separate burners at 8x it will almost be as quick as dual burning
  24. two things, use vebatim for dual layer, ritek are crap the other, is that a scsi drive? if not, update your chipset drivers
