  1. Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me in detail how to write a proper DVD-Audio disc from an AUDIO_TS folder (and VIDEO_TS too I suppose)? I can't seem to get the right disc structure. Thanks, john
  2. ImgBurn can't create open/non-finalized/multisession discs: it can only create closed/finalized discs, which is the most compatible type. Your problem seems to be poor quality media. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden rewritables as they're known for quality By the way, open/non-finalized discs wouldn't play at all on standard DVD players.
  3. It is ImgBurn that complains that my ISOs are not split correctly for DL disks. That's not exactly the language the program uses but that's the essence of it. It apparently needs to know at what point in the ISO it needs to start on the second layer. I create my ISOs with DVDShrink. No other burner complains of such a thing. It is exactly that issue that led me to this forum. And I can claim my 100% success rate on HP and Memorex discs BECAUSE I verify each and every burn, whether it's SL or DL. I subsequently test them on three different computer DVD drives and four different DVD players. I should add that I tried other brands before I settled on those two. Verbatim was one of them and they worked fine but can be more expensive than Memorex. HP are the highest priced but also the slowest burning. The absolute worst: Matrix. At best they offer a 10% success ratio.
  4. maybe you changed where the iso is stored and the mds file inside is still pointing to where it used to live. open ImgBurn and choose tools and create dvd mds add the iso and follow instructions
  5. The PIE levels on that disc are way out of spec, jitter is quite high too. Normally I'd look for PIE being under 40-80 on DL media and you want jitter under 10 really. You should download the latest cdspeed from http://www.cdspeed2000.com as that's what we're all using (along with DVDInfoPro). There is no such thing as a 'layer' until I create it so when you say the second one is smaller, it's only smaller if you pick the 70/30 one. It's padding so many sectors so that the cell in question is the midway point. i.e. if I have cells... 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 and I want cell 4 to be the layer break one (i.e. the 1st cell on the 2nd layer), I need to insert space (padding) before cell 1 so that [space] - 1 - 2 - 3 is the same size as 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8, because L0 must be the same size (or larger) than L1.
  6. Recently, I downloaded a freeware version of HDLOADER, a program many of you will be familiar with. I then used ImgBurn to create a disc. It works great, but the problem is, I have to use a swap disc to use it (Swap Magic, to be exact). Is there a way to create a disc that will boot on the playstation using the file I downloaded? Let me apologize in advance, but I have searched your posts & guides and, not being by any means an expert on this stuff, cannot find anything describing specifically how to do this or stating that it can't be done. Understand that, it is not my attention to copy any games or software that I do not legally own or that was not freely given. Thanks in advance
  7. Hi, I am trying to create a live CD from the PCLinuxOS file that I downloaded from the website. Everytime I copy the file I never can get it to run. It only is a copy of the file. There is never a run command as an option when trying to open the copy on the disc. I keep trying to figure out how to copy my download as an image onto the disc. I am wanting to to try Linux to decide if I want to switch over to it from WndwsXP. If anyone can tell me how to do this it would be very helpful... 10. i got that. i guess i'm waiting for that new version of imgburn w/the audio feature. it will create an image of a music cd on a cd-r, but it'll only play in my stand alone dvd player. correct? also tried in vain to see what the discovery feature is about, and couldn't find anything in search, or just put wrong keyword. there's no guide on this. i think? can you please help me w/this. appreciated as always.
  11. Build mode can either create an ISO or burn to a disc directly (without making an ISO). Just change the 'Output' as mmalves has already said.
  12. went through the search, and really didn't find anything about imgburn being able to burn data onto a cd-r, and if i missed that, i don't know how to do it anyway. do you still have to create an image to burn data onto a cd-r? it's called imgburn 4 a reason. that i'm clear about. i really need help w/this, because i'm trying to see if my burner which is a 112d from pioneer is having issues w/a proggie i'm using, or whether it's an all around problem. have latest firmware 1.24. also read the thread w/the fella having issues w/same burner, and then putting it in different system. don't have luxury to do that, and issue is w/cds anyway. btw i'm using burrrn to burn the cds. my other 2 drives, samsung sata sh-s203b, and samsung sh-s202j have no problems whatsover. thnx.
  13. My new writer arrived this afternoon . Front of box: And my first LightScribed disc: The disc is actually darker than the photo shows. I scribed it three times just to see the contrast changes. I have already updated the firmware and increased the readspeed. Now its 1.05. Very happy with this drive. The DMA shows as UDMA 4. My harddrive shows as UDMA 2 (still, it's quick enough). [edit]I used Nero cover designer to create the labels (very easy to create and manipulate images).[/edit] Another disc I did with a template from lightscribe.com (scribed once using enhanced and best modes):
  14. Just to get some clarification on a few things using ImgBurn 2.3.2.0, based on what I've read in other posts (regarding Windows XP) about making a bootable CD after slipstreaming... While trying to create a bootable CD of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2, I have these settings: File System: ISO9660 ISO9660 Restrictions:Folder/File Name Length: Level 2 - 31 Characters Character Set: Standard Allow More Than 8 Directory Levels Allow More Than 255 Characters In Path Allow Files Without Extensions Don't Add ';1' Version Number To Files Is it still normal to get the following in the log? "W 11:33:35 ISO9660 File System: 85 folder/file names have been truncated due to your current settings." I even tried using Level X - 219 Characters, but I got the same warning. I can't imagine there are really such long file or folder names on a Windows install CD.
  15. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me I'm afraid. Build mode should tell you exactly how big the image is that it'll create. That size should then be the same when you open it in Write mode. Can you provide a test case when that's not true?
  16. I was wondering this. Is it possible to build an ISO (or burn from) from the VIDEO_TS file of the file in the DVD Drive? What I mean is, while in build mode, can you hit browse, go to my computer, drive D (or whatever), select the movie, and then the VIDEO_TS file? Wouldn't that also give the original layer break as well. In the one I tried (I didn't create the ISO, wasn't sure what would happen) it gave me the original layer break as an option. This should result in the same way as 'read' mode, but would give the option of using "seamless" playback. Also, just a general question. Does ImgBurn, and for that matter other burning programs, add dummy sectors to the end? I used build mode to make an ISO, then opened it in write mode. It had added 6 sectors to the end from the original. Or is this just postering, and will they be same once burnt?
  17. Okay, I've read the Guides and searched the posts but can't find the answer: I'd like to burn from a bootable floppy image (via 'Create Boot Image') and have no other files added to a bootable CD, but it seems that ImgBurn insists on at least a "Dummy" file being added to the 'Source' box before anything can be written -- Am I missing something? Thanks, Jay
  18. I know for a fact there is (or was, anyway) software that could mount a ZIP archive as a virtual disk, the same way dozens of freely available tools can mount ISO image files as virtual CD/DVDs. I'd be surprised if such a thing didn't exist for RAR archives -- perhaps even multipart ones (similar to how Norton Ghost is able to create multipart hard disk images, and mount them as virtual disks.) It shouldn't take the proverbial Rocket Scientist to conclude how the ability to make a RAR archive appear as a disk, would apply to the original request in this thread. Even if I'm wrong and there's no such thing at present (or impractically expensive), perhaps Frog would better focus his efforts on getting someone to implement it, thus killing many more birds than would be bagged by another feature extension to ImgBurn's already impressive portfolio!
  19. Hey, in the CD burning guide it mentions selecting 'Create CD MDS File...' from the tools menu.. but it isn't there. Even if I switch modes, I cannot get that option... Screenshot Help?
  20. I'm using ImgBurn to create an ISO image that will be used by another program to automaticly burn CD during the night. So far so good. Wehoever I need to know if ImgBurn does include a postgap between the files, haven't found anything in the documentation. The files are mp3 files. What is Postgap and why is it needed? Postgap is the 2-second gap after every data track, occupying 150 sectors on a CD ROM master. DAO CD (Disc at Once) LeadIn TOC (Table of Contents) Data Track Postgap LeadOut A CD-R disc that does not contain Postgap can still be read in most, if not all, CD drives, but there are several reasons why Postgap is used and required when authoring your master. The reasons are
  21. I have a bootable 1.44M floppy disk and a blank CD-R. Please lead me through the steps to make the bootable image so I can burn the CD. When I try (using V 2.3.2), the "create boot image" spot on the bootable disk tab is greyed out. I have been searching the forums and all the images of the GUI show this area as active. Mine never is!!! Thank you for any help.
  22. The ability to auto-load/fill the Que at start up time with images. Create a new tab in the preferences named "Que". In that tab: 1. An option to specify a path/location of saved image files. 2. The type of image extensions you want it to auto-load รก la the look in the Registry tab. 3. Y/N if you want to auto-load the files located in your specified path at the start up of ImgBurn. 4. Y/N if you want the Que window to open up for you after that the program has started (if there where some files to load).
  23. I have movie that came in a bin/cue format which I converted to an Iso format and them tried ImgBurn to change it to a vob format which I think will play on my DVD Player attached to my TV. However, ImgBurn created a DAT file like the bin/cue format did. This Dat format will not play on my DVD Player attached to my TV. Anyone know what I can do to create a format that will play on my player? The bin file is 800 MB and the Iso file is 700 MB. thanks in advance, mpauls
  24. This may be a stupid question, but, do they make CD-R's of larger than 80 minutes/700 MB? I've a CD I want to create but the source files come out to an annoying 80 minutes and 11 seconds. I can't trim down the length of the files and I can't remove any more files from the source list. So, my only option seems to be to burn to a larger size CD-R, 90 minutes if they make one, etc. Thanks!
  25. Using AnyDvd I ripped a blue ray disk to the hard drive. Power DVD plays the original disk and the ripped data fine. When I create an image using imgburn (with no errors) power DVD attempts to play it but the audio and video is choppy. Any thoughts?
