  1. There isn't much between them. Last time I paid any attention to an original disc, it used 2.50.
  2. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  3. It may not be issuing that command. I'm not entirely sure it's needed, but it should just fail (and I've never seen it do that), not hang.
  4. Which version did you go with? Does your disc have the proper folder structure for an avchd disc? You mention the m2ts file, hopefully that isn't all you've got on the disc?
  5. If cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc doesn't help, your only real option is a new drive and/or better discs. There's no magic fix for when drive / firmware / media combos don't work.
  6. Yes, I'd say the Samsung has had it. Does your ihas120 drive not work either?
  7. There's an A11 bios update available for your laptop. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=Y1VWX&fileId=3210558357&osCode=W764&productCode=alienware-m18x-r2&languageCode=EN&categoryId=BI For the intel rapid storage tech driver, there are loads to try... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55005/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST- Yours is 11.7, then there's a 12.0, 12.5,12.8,12.9, 13.1, 13.2 and finally 13.6. Hopefully one of those will do the trick. Normally I'd expect the optical drive to be on port 4 or 5 (where ports start on port 0). That way, the RAID portion has ports 0 - 3 (4 in total) and the remaining 2 ports (assuming the usual 6 in total) can be left in AHCI mode - as the last 2 don't normally support RAID at all.
  8. Thar's a shame, the info doesn't include the version number on your system. Do you know which version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology drive you've got installed? Are you actually using RAID on your machine or could you go into the BIOS and put it in AHCI mode? It might be worth booting into Safe Mode and seeing if everything works ok in that.
  9. This is probably due to your drivers. Optical drives don't like being on controllers in RAID mode. Right click the destination drop down box when you're in Write mode and pick 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt that comes up and then copy + paste everything from the Log window please.
  10. Yes, still the CUE file. It can read CCD files though.
  11. Yours is calling the data file an img file because you're creating a ccd file. Virtual clone drive / clonecd only work with ccd/img combos. There's no way (that I know of) to specify the name of the data file, they always look for *.img.
  12. Try installing the latest firmware for the drive and give it another go. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/SH-S223Q/files.html If it still can't produce a working disc at 4x, either your drive has had it or your disc aren't the quality 'MKM-003-00' should be (and the drive can't handle it).
  13. All it's doing is issuing the 'reserve track' command and waiting for a response. So it sounds like your system is hanging / failing to process it. Try booting into safe mode and see if you have the same problem. It could be driver related.
  14. Simple safe mode... but it doesn't really matter. I don't know why your drive didn't even show up... weird! In normal windows mode (not safe mode), go into Write mode, right click the Destination drive drop down box and pick 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt that comes up and then copy + paste everything from the Log window please.
  15. That's still not the full log but perhaps you actually deleted lines from the Log window it before closing the program, or again omitted them when posting it. Do you have any other discs you can try? Something other than 'CMC' ones. Next time you buy some, get Taiyo Yuden. Do you have the same problem if you pick one of the other supported speeds? You're currently burning at 'MAX', which is 24x for your drive/firmware/media combo.
  16. Yes, that would be what 'Build' mode is for. On the main screen ('Ez-Mode Picker' scree), the shortcut to 'Build' mode is the 'Write files / folders to disc' or the 'Create image from files / folders', depending on if you want to burn the files directly to disc or create a disc image file (ISO file) of them.
  17. The program saves the log automatically when you close it. Look in the help menu for the log option. If you're worried the OS is messing things up, boot into safe mode and try again. Chances are it's just the discs you're using.
  18. Any SATA drive will work with the 760 desktop case, it's a standard drive. The only thing you might need are special screws or something due to the quick release mechanisms the Dell cases use. Personally, I'd probably back up to an external hdd using something like Acronis True Image.
  19. I'm sure you can find one on eBay or amazon. Disc wise, I recommend Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.
  20. Even if those ritek discs have worked before, you should try some different (better) ones. Before doing that though, try the other supported write speeds. Your drive may do a better job of burning them at one of the other speeds. You may also like to try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.
  21. Your system is hanging, not the program. The drive does the format, ImgBurn just polls it every second to see if it's finished and get the %complete value. The same is true for the sync cache part. Drives don't like being on controllers in RAID mode. Which controller is your drive attached to? (Which chipset?) Undated drivers may fix your problems. The forum logs in automatically for me. Has done for the past 8 or however many years.
  22. Oops, I forgot that stage! Extract the boot image from the virtual drive too and add it back in again
  23. Mount the ISO, drag the files from the virtual drive into advanced input mode within build mode, swap out the files you want to replace and then have it build the new image.
  24. Burn at 4x, not max... Which seems to be 10x for that drive.
