TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633L 99% Synchronising Cache hang
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Samdini's topic in ImgBurn Support
Sorry, I must have missed this one. What controller is to drive attached to? Right click the drive selection drop down box when you're in Write mode and click 'family tree'. Close the prompt that comes up and then copy + paste the contents of the Log window please. I've seen this issue before and it's usually driver related. Non Intel boards are the worst offenders and optical drives don't like being on controllers running in raid mode - which yours is. -
I believe you when you say you're using verbatim discs, you're just using the wrong ones. It's no longer enough to simply say 'buy verbatim dvd+r dl discs' as they've started farming out production to other manufacturers. You need the verbatim dvd+r dl discs made by MKM with the MKM-003-00 MID / dye. Your log shows your drive errored out with another 'write error', hence what I said in my previous post still stands.

You aren't going to convince me or anyone else that UME discs are the same as MKM ones, they aren't. The actual settings aren't going to make your drive any more capable of burning those discs. It's erroring out and reporting a 'write error', so obviously it doesn't like something about them. If you've cleaned it and ensured its firmware is up to date, there's little more you can do. Get another drive and hope it likes the discs you're using or give the proper MKM discs a go. If they also fail, you'll know for sure that it's the drive. What do you expect to happen by unchecking the verify box? Not checking the disc for errors doesn't mean they just go away. Personally, I'd rather know there's a problem. The 'perform opc before write' option rarely makes any difference.

Uninstall the program and reinstall it. That'll give you the default settings. You won't get decent burns until you're using the correct media. Nowhere really recommends anything other than MKM-003-00 discs. It's nothing to do with being from Singapore or not, yours are a totally different MID, lower quality and drives simply won't have been fine tuned as much as they have over the years for burning MKM stuff. Do not buy the value range / life series. Do it properly or don't do it at all, you'll just be wasting your money.

You're using UME discs, not verbatim MKM-003-00 ones. Don't believe the rubbish you read on the internet about different setting. The defaults work fine. A 73mb buffer is ridiculous and you've never needed to specify the layer break position in the settings. The correct value is read from the .dvd file. Put the setting back on 'calculate optimal'. Obviously you know your hardware is no good for burning xgd3 sized images correctly.

You need to post the log please, as per the pink box up the top of the forum.
-
Nothing, it's just checking the sectors are readable.
-
Keep them, there might be nothing wrong with them.
-
You aren't verifying it against the source data when you verify for a second time, hence the lack of miscompares. You may find you have memory issues. Get windows memory diagnostic program to check the memory or use something like memtest for the job.
-
This isn't anything to do with ImgBurn, it just burns your data as-is. So you'd need to check your source file, tsmuxer, your player and maybe even the TV itself to see where the problem lies. One of them must be doing something weird.
-
Yes
-
Just keep them out of the audio_ts and video_ts folders.
-
If it reports a different version, yes. Windows only reports up to v8.0 without extra bits being added to the exe's manifest. Safe mode might report it correctly without one - so you'd actually see it's v8.1 etc.
-
We need to see the whole log please.
-
The key point I picked out from the OPs question was 'with menus'. Unless your player treats the disc as a data disc and then treats you selecting the VIDEO_TS.IFO file or something from a specific folder as a standalone DVD Video disc, there's no way it'll work and display the proper menus for that specific VIDEO_TS folder.

Use something like hdtune to do a benchmark / read test over the entire drive and post up a graph from that. Make sure the benchmark test is configured to do a full test in the settings.
-
I can only assume it's degraded and either recreating the missing data from parity or it's in the process of rebuilding parity and that's why it's slow. What does the rocketraid software say is going on?
-
No.

Everything's inner to outer.

CPU-Z should do the trick.

Mount your image in a virtual drive program and check it plays in media player. You can buy a new burner for about £15. -

Does it play on the PC itself? You could try burning at 16x or 24x instead of MAX. Invest in some Taiyo Yuden CDs too, they're the best. Give the drive a clean with a cleaning disc, it's very old now (or get a new one).
