  1. It uses whatever's configured in Verify mode.
  2. Then you have a problem somewhere, they should be the same - assuming something isn't changing the data on the fly. If your drive can't read something, it should be erroring out, not returning a bunch of zeros. Turn on the option to make ImgBurn calculate and display the md5 of what it's read and double check the values between reads.
  3. Your drive is reporting a 'Write Error' so I would assume it doesn't like burning that disc. You could try burning at one of the lower supported speeds (on a new disc) and if that still doesn't work, try turning 'Perform OPC before write' off again in the settings. If you still have no luck, try some different discs.
  4. Just for completeness, could you copy and paste all of the disc info from the box on the right when you're in Read mode with that disc in the drive please. Try the newer firmware on your drive, it's currently misreporting certain info about the disc. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHAS222%2B8/files.html
  5. You're lucky I haven't deleted all of your posts and banned you. Don't join a forum, post the same thing in loads of places AND write in all capitals. That's just not done. If you've got an iHAS124 E drive, why does your screenshot say ihas124 B?! So you don't waste more of my time, post the log of you burning and verifying a verbatim disc please.
  6. Sorry, I do actually need the log from when the Yamaha drive is in the machine. I'm just wondering why it's not reporting cdtext capabilities in the way it's supposed to. I can see Nero info tool says it supports cdtext but they could just be going from a database for the less MMC compliant drives. If you don't want to swap the drive back out, don't worry, I just can't then get to the bottom of the issue.
  7. Ah ok, it isn't attempting to write the LeadIn with CD-TEXT on the Samsung drive - it turns out that it does want the drive to report it either supports reading or writing CD-TEXT before it'll try to burn a CD-TEXT leadin. Can you do me a favour please... load ImgBurn (make sure it just goes to the Ez-Mode Picker screen), press the F8 key to enable I/O debug mode and then click 'Tools' -> 'Search for SCSI / ATAPI devices'. You should see loads of entries being written to the log. Once the scan has finished and things quieten down / stop, use the File -> Save option in the log window to make a new log and then upload that for me to look at. Thanks
  8. Post the burn+verify log please.
  9. Your drive reported a 'write error'. Buy some verbatim MKM-003-00 discs and ditch the UME ones.
  10. I don't recall the program actually caring about the drive saying CD-TEXT is supported or not. Seeing as that drive is so old, it may not be fully MMC compliant and actually report its full capabilities. What happens when it burns? Does it not attempt to write CD-TEXT? Post the log of you burning + verifying a CD (with CD-TEXT) please.
  11. Post the log please.
  12. Don't waste your time db.
  13. Use the recommended MKM-003-00 media. Revert ImgBurn's settings to their default values.

  15. You have a problem with the way the drive is connected to your machine. The data being sent to / read from it is getting corrupted. It could be the USB enclosure/adapter and/or cable you're using or the port (and maybe USB controller) it's connected to... so try different ones of those if possible. A plain old SATA connection would be best rather than USB.
  16. If they don't verify, it means the drive can't read the disc. It's not a good sign if the drive that just burnt it can't read it.... Obviously it didn't burn it very well. Telling the program not to verify doesn't make it any more or less readable, it just means the program can't tell you there are problems. The Optiarc 5280-CB-Plus is a good drive for overburning Dvd+R DL discs, yes. It will overburn mkm-03-00 with minimal fuss.
  17. ImgBurn can actually do that too via debug mode
  18. You need certain hardware. Read an Xbox related forum
  19. Unless your player actually supports playing mpg files, it's not going to work. ImgBurn doesn't convert anything and you may need a proper dvd video disc. Use something like dvd flick or convertxtodvd for the conversion and then burn the output with ImgBurn.
  20. There's nothing bad in it, just a legitimate plugin (OpenCandy) that can potentially offer you 3rd party software during the installation wizard. There isn't a version of the setup program without it so you'll have to tell webroot to not complain so much.
  21. So you're mounting the image under the floppy drive device within VMware/virtualbox? If so, you don't want to build an image, you just take a complete copy of your (extract the boot image from your) existing floppy disk and point VMware at that. If you make an ISO (or any other extension you give it) in ImgBurn, it's meant for an optical device and therefore needs to be mounted as one... not a floppy device. Beyond that, I don't 100% follow what you're trying to do. The only Windows 98 install disc I've seen was a CD and that was already bootable.
  22. The problem here is your c: drive (hard drive). Run chkdsk on it with a full surface scan to look for bad sectors.
  23. There's already a guide for creating a bootable Vista / Windows 7 install disc from a proper set of install files/folders (not an ISO) on your hdd in the Guides section.
  24. If you have a disc you want to copy, you simply use read mode to make an ISO of it (as you have done) and then write it to a new disc using write mode. The bootable bit is contained within the ISO so you don't need to worry about making it bootable, it already will be.
  25. Maybe a faster speed would produce better results? Cleaning the drive may help too. You could try enabling the 'perform OPC before write' setting to see if that makes a difference.
