  1. Don't expect to see anything in the log that actually says 'finalising'. That command isn't required for all types of disc... but ImgBurn always leaves discs in a closed/complete state. So if you were hoping that was the reason behind something not working, I'm afraid you'll have to think again!
  2. It would have helped if you'd showed us a log so we could see what the program was doing and a screenshot of the main window. If it's getting stuck somewhere on your machine that can be avoided, I will of course do everything I can to fix it.
  3. But HKCR is a virtual key, built based on the values of HKCU and HKLM... both of which are definitely removed by the uninstaller. Weird!
  4. ImgBurn didn't prevent anything from happening. The verify process just warns you of potential issues with the disc - like it not being 100% readable.
  5. And iTunes can still burn them ok? To ImgBurn, your drive is reporting itself exactly as you see it there - 'Medium Not Present'.
  6. Your drive doesn't appear to support the disc(s) you're trying to use. You're quite sure it's a CD you're putting in the drive and not a DVD? Can the drive read other CDs ok?
  7. It's working ok under 11.04 (so I assume 11.10 would work too). The only thing worth mentioning from WineDebug is that is says to update to Alsa v1.0.24 drivers (I understand they're at a lower level than pulse?) - but they don't seem to be available for 10.10! I'm taking that to mean it's actually a bug in Alsa rather than Wine - as the same Wine code works fine on 11.04 (with does use Alsa 1.0.24) That WOD_PushData just repeats forever on 10.10. On 11.04 is looks like this:
  8. and another correction... it's not the 'stop' that's hanging, it's the initial playing of the sound. Because it's played asynchronously, the program doesn't have to wait for it to finish (Wine creates a thread and plays the sound in that). The 'stop' must then be getting caught up in some wait routine (critical section or similar) - meaning the function never returns control to ImgBurn and it's just made to sit and wait. You can also reproduce the issue by trying to play the success sound twice via the 'Sound' tab in the settings. It'll appear to work ok the first time, but if you click play a 2nd time the button will stay pressed in and the GUI becomes unresponsive.
  9. For me anyway, it's now looking like an audio related issue. The program plays a sound (asynchronously) before the 'success' message box pops up and then stops it again after the box has been closed. It's the 'stop' function that's hanging. Try turning off the success/error sounds in the settings. Oh and as it has this problem with all modes, just verify a disc (not against an image) to test it quickly... no need to actually burn anything.
  10. Ok well it looks like the function that runs when the burn (+verify) thread completes isn't being called for some reason. I can reproduce the issue on 10.10, now I'm about to try on 11.10.
  11. Have you seen / clicked the 'operation completed sucessfully' prompt at this point?
  12. No drive can only read 16x discs. Just burn on a DL disc, it'll work fine (assuming the burn goes ok). You can Google for what a virtual drive program is. It's software that gives you a virtual cd/dvd (reader) drive that you can see in 'My Computer' / Explorer. You mount (open) disc images (ISO files) in it and it looks like a real disc has been inserted in a real drive. Download Virtual CloneDrive or DVDFab Virtual Drive if you want to try one out. They're both freeware (as is DAEMON Tools Lite).
  13. Yes, it's the disc. You're overburning them (thanks to the firmware mod) and Verbatim discs are the ones that cope with that the best. The others fail around the (now extended) layer break position - just as yours did there.
  14. Can you get a screenshot of the window for me please? It's quite rare for that bar to be completely empty!
  15. Why didn't you verify the disc? I've never seen Verbatim discs with the RITEK MID so they must be new/fake or you've got confused somewhere. Either way, it still comes down to you needing MKM-001-00 or MKM-003-00 discs. Personally I'd go for the MKM-003-00 discs with the LiteOn drives.
  16. Oh man, I knew I must have put in a way to do it! I just didn't notice it in the search results when I went looking for anything changing the variable in question!
  17. HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
  18. Read what's written in the Log window - when logged in as a normal user. If you closed the log window (shame on you!) open it up again via the View menu. When you've found it, copy + paste what's written in it.
  19. The one in ImgBurn. It's at the bottom of the main window.
  20. Close the program. Open RegEdit Navigate to HKCU\Software\ImgBurn Delete the 'TotalNumberOfBurns' entry (or change its value to 0). Or uninstall + reinstall
  21. There's a firmware update available for your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHBS212%2B2/files.html This is the initial (and importantly) error message - but it's not one you should be seeing. I'm inclined to say this could be driver related. What SATA controller is the drive attached to? Right click the drive selection box and click 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt and copy + paste the info from the log window. edit: oops, took too long to reply
  22. What's the message in the status bar?
