ImgBurn will perform booktyping to DVD-ROM automatically with that drive - IF it supports it. Verbatim DL discs are the only ones worth buying. Don't waste your time / money on anything else.

Learn how to use the program and then suggest stuff please. Working from a list with no real world experience of something isn't going to be of any use.

create bin cue files directly from burner:
LIGHTNING UK! replied to dr_ml422's topic in ImgBurn Support
No, the CUE file points to files already on your hard drive. You can't make it point at a drive or at a file that doesn't exist and therefore cannot be examined. Oh but if the BIN is on the CD as an actual file (i.e. you backed it up), yes you can create a CUE for it. It just has to be an actual file stored somewhere. -
L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Raukie's topic in ImgBurn Support
Get yourself a new drive, they're so cheap now it's really not worth your time messing around with that one and creating so many coasters. -
Why on earth would you burn so many if they're failing?! 1 failure... try again 2 failures... hmm bit pissed off 3 give up If your drive won't burn to the discs then you've either got a really bad batch (i.e. Verbs that aren't from Singapore) or your drive has gone south. You can get a new one for

The verdict is.... it's not working very well! Why are you using ASPI (FrogASPI) for your I/O interface? Put it back on SPTI. I've no idea where all the 'No Additional Sense Information' errors being returned by your drive/drivers are coming from. They're probably bogus - or could be due to you using FrogASPI. The power calibration and session fixation errors are because your drive doesn't really like the media. I'm not really surprised because rewritable discs are never really any good and your drive is pretty ancient now. You don't fancy treating yourself to a new one?

Nero verifies DVD+R OK, ImgBurn fails on error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to cbraxton's topic in ImgBurn Support
Going by that disc info, the last sector is 2285871 which is more than the last one ImgBurn wrote to (2285853 - and I'd expect that to be the case so don't worry!), so I really can't see what the problem is. If it knows the disc has 2285871 sectors available for reading, why is it saying 2285853 is out of range?! Try verifying the disc again now. -
Nero verifies DVD+R OK, ImgBurn fails on error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to cbraxton's topic in ImgBurn Support
Use ImgBurn to verify one of the Nero written discs and show me that log please. btw, if you've reloaded ImgBurn 2.4.2.0 from scratch, the 'DVD+R Reserve Track' option shouldn't be enabled by default and your log shows that it is. In any case, the program has written up to and including sector 2285853 and yet your drive is claiming anything after 2285839 is out of range... that can't possibly be true. Put the ImgBurn burnt disc back in the drive and copy + paste all the disc info text from the panel on the right. -
I VERY much doubt it's a bug so I've moved it to 'Support'. Post a log of what you're actually doing. When you burn, make sure you verify too.

dvds play in standalone dvd player but not on PC
LIGHTNING UK! replied to junglefish's topic in ImgBurn Support
Updating the program wasn't going to fix your error, I knew that. It does fix other issues though and of course adds/improves on different aspects of the program. The lines mean your drive is still having trouble burning to the disc. Get the decent media and hopefully you'll be ok. -
Turn 'Prefer Properly Formatted +RW' back on in the settings and get ImgBurn to do a FULL erase. Then please post the log from that. When you're burning, turn on the Verify option and post the complete log of both operations. You really need to get yourself a USB 2.0 card or something, you'll be mullering the burnproof feature of the drive if you're stuck at 0.6x speed. That drive is old and probably doesn't do it very well.

There's only one layer, it can't be anything other than PTP!

It says it next to where you read the drive name within Imgburn.

and your current firmware version is... ? Anyway, 1.73 is probably the latest. https://sales.sony-semicon.co.uk/sunshine/i...;desc3=Firmware

Automatic Creation of 'CERTIFICATE' Folder
LIGHTNING UK! replied to DominikM's topic in ImgBurn General
Yes, but don't use 'Read' mode to create your new image, just use the *working* disc in your E: drive as the 'Source' in 'Build' mode. -
L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Raukie's topic in ImgBurn Support
It could be that you're burning at 4x, yes. So long as it burns and verifies ok it means the disc at least readable in the drive that wrote it - that's a good start! I expect the Wii is picky about its media (and the quality of the burn).... after all, it was never really designed to read anything except original 'pressed' Wii games. -

1. Update ImgBurn to the latest version. 2. Buy better media. We recommend Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden. Stick to the 8x stuff because that's all your drive supports. -
L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Raukie's topic in ImgBurn Support
Did you verify as part of the burn? If not, you should probably check the 'Verify' box so that it does. When you've done that, please post a log - obviously the first thing we need to check is that the PC can read it. -

L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Raukie's topic in ImgBurn Support
It won't work at the end, the content simply isn't there! Well, you know, whatever was in the last 300,000 or so sectors isn't there. Tell your friend that it still should be left on 'Automatic'. The .DVD and .MDS files take care of layer break positions. -

LIGHTNING UK! replied to Raukie's topic in ImgBurn Support
You've (they've) got the wrong LB position selected in the settings. Put it back on 'Automatic' and leave it! -
ImgBurn's booktype stuff supports all the LG drives that actually support changing the booktype, yours doesn't appear to. That's not uncommon for OEM drives though.
-
I expect the commands just aren't supported in your drives firmware. That's why it says 'Book Type Setting: N/A' in your log. What machine is that drive in btw?

I found the latest real driver for your Marvell controller. Going by this bit... ...I'd guess that it's actually a 6121 and not a 6111. I'm sure they're very much the same thing though Bring up properties on that 'Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller', click 'Update Driver...' on the 'Driver' tab and point it at the folder where you've extracted the attached RAR file to. These drivers are WHQL signed btw. Maybe that'll work, maybe it won't. It's got to be worth a shot Then I guess, if all else fails, pick yourself up a Silicon Image 3112 / 3512 / 3114 card (non raid if possible but you can flash to the non raid bios anyway) on ebay for Marvell.61XX.i386.WHQL.v1.2.0.60.rar
