  1. Burning should take about 8 - 10 mins or something at 8x. Verify speed depends on what your drive likes to read at. If yours is going much slower than that you must have an issue somewhere. Yes that's how the queue works. You just tell it the number of copies and keep feeding it blank discs until they're all done.
  2. If you just want to burn one, read the Guides forum.
  3. No, you just got the wrong discs. You should buy Verbatim DVD+R DL ones, not DVD-R DL.
  4. You'll find most places won't talk about such things. The admins get in trouble and the sites get closed down.
  5. It checks the disc is readable and compares the data on the disc to that of the original image/files. So basically, leave it enabled unless you don't care if the data is wrong.
  6. Due to that error during the finalisation stage it appears it didn't booktype to DVDROM though - unless you disabled the option of course?
  7. I expect the 286mb mem usage is you giving the program a 256mb buffer?!
  8. Deleted from your duplicate thread (roughly speaking anyway):
  9. There's no need for 2 threads, just stick to asking your questions in 1. Thread closed.
  10. Look in the log and see what it says it's doing. Also check the status bar. I suspect you just need to update the firmware on your drive and/or switch to using decent Verbatim/Taiyo Yuden media - it's probably stuck on the 'Writing LeadIn...' stage.
  11. ImgBurn burns as-is. If you want a DVD Video disc you need to feed it DVD Video files (IFO/VOB/BUP etc) in 'Build' mode - or give it a properly formatted DVD Video ISO image in 'Write' mode. An ISO is a disc image hence no conversion would ever need to take place - it's already in the format it's supposed to be in (whatever that might be). You can queue up ISO image files to burn in Write mode but you can't queue up normal files/folders to burn in Build mode.
  12. Genuine TYG02 disc are about the best you'll get. No need to burn at 4x though, they're brilliant (maybe even better?) at 8x. I would guess the original ISO is just rubbish and full of nothingness. Forget about it. Please keep your talk on 'rips' and whatever for another forum. I don't want it discussed on here.
  13. ok so that's an image you've built yourself yeah? and now you're just trying to burn it? If you followed the guide in the Guides forum (as suggested in my previous post) there shouldn't be an issue. The burn + verify went fine so there's certainly no problem there.
  14. Nope. Use something like Acronis True Image.
  15. Yes. Thanks. I consulted with the distributor of this drive and they recommended 1.21. Maybe they weren't aware of the 1.22 version? I've love to hear their reasoning behind sticking with 1.21. They never do these updates for a laugh, they fix issues. By keeping with 1.21 you're subject to 'known' bugs.
  16. You can get the 1.22 firmware from here: http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/cgi-bin/www1/d...12D_FW122EU.EXE

You might want to check that your XP cd has SP2 slipstreamed into it. I believe the initial release had some issue with bigger hdds - although I can't remember the exact details.
  18. You've already done all the firmware updates? Buy some different discs. Your drive doesn't support the ones you're using.
  19. I scan at 8x in my BenQ but stick to 4x in my LiteOn.... dunno why, I just do
  20. ImgBurn always finalises the discs - in fact, it doesn't have to do anything special for that on DVD-R media, it's done automatically by the drive. Put one of your burnt discs in the drive and copy + paste everything from the info panel on the right (within ImgBurn).
  21. You don't need to reinstall ImgBurn, there's not much you can do to mess it up - well, not unless you're a complete nutter that changes every single setting to things you don't understand. All you'd be looking at is hit and miss burning that's essentially caused by a bad media/drive/firmware combo. Update the firmware on your drive and ensure you're using quality Verbatim / Taiyo Yuden disc. If you still have problems, invest in a new drive.
  22. Paul, I've got to be honest here, you're treading on VERY thin ice. There are more and more legal ways of downloading stuff these days but the majority are still illegal. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'll give you some clues on general burning practises. An ISO is a disc image. It should be in a format such that when it's written to the disc (without any manipulation) it just works straight off. Obviously that's not the case here so I'd have to guess the image is faulty. However, there are other things to take into consideration. Are you using decent media? Does your player support that type of media? Did the disc burn AND verify without errors? Can the PC play whatever's on the disc? Can the PC see what's on the disc if you look at it via 'My Computer' or 'Explorer' ? Next, if you have a VIDEO_TS folder and some DVD Video files (the VTS_XX IFO/BUP/VOB ones), you can refer to the Guides forum and read one of the guides in there to see how to burn them.
  23. The firmware is like the operating system for your drive. If you don't update it, you might still be running the equivalent of Windows 95. All you need to do is load ImgBurn and click Tools -> Drive -> Check for firmware updates. Get the latest one and load it on.
  24. The problem is with your drive/media, not the software. Update the firmware on it and perhaps it'll start working. Failing that, buy some different DL discs that it DOES support.
