  1. Your drive is old and only supports DVD+R media. If you're using DVD-R media, that's why it doesn't work.
  2. That's not a drive error, it's a Windows error where the DeviceIoControl API is failing. It'll probably mean more to you than it does to me... what with it being in German and all that
  3. I really need to see why the command is failing. To do that I need you to enabled 'I/O Debug Mode' just before you burn. Simply press the F8 button before you click the 'Write' button. Then once it's has errored out, press F8 again to disable 'I/O Debug Mode', save the log and attach it in your next post. btw, can I assume you've at least tried cycling the power on the PC?!
  4. Yes, it does help if the CD/DVD is inserted around the right way!
  5. The booktype stuff often fails when one of the close track/session/disc commands fails. This is more the drive's fault than ImgBurns - I simply tell the drive to do before the burn and it should then remember that it needs to when it gets to the end of the burn. It's not an actual function that ImgBurn has to perform.
  6. You had your answer in the 2nd post. Ditch the Ritek/Ricoh dyes discs and get some Verbatims DVD+R 2.4x ones instead (MKM dye). Burn at 2.4x.
  7. That's what ImgBurn already does in order to burn the image. But with a 'complex' image (i.e. multisession/track - which a VCD is), that doesn't work. The 'complex' image is just burnt as a 'simple' image hence all multisession/track information is lost and the disc will not play.
  8. You just make a file called ImgBurn.ini in the app directory donta. ImgBurn will then load/save to that instead.
  9. Update your drives firmware with this one: ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/rmsd/R143730.EXE
  10. The locking issue is covered in the FAQ. I do NOT recommend you disable locking of the drive. (i.e. go back and re-tick that option!)
  11. Any change like that would only be implemented in the entire build mode GUI stuff was redesigned. At the moment it's really only meant for burning stuff as-is. You need to prepared everything on your hdd first. Great show though isn't it Shame they stopped after just 1 season
  12. Nope.
  13. is this a pub quiz?!
  14. hmm only got up to 9.9x on that 16x media... I guess WOPC must have been working overtime - suggesting you were getting a low quality burn and then eventually it just failed. Slow the burn down to 8x and try again. EDIT: doh! I should refresh the page before posting
  15. Every thread you'll ever read in the forum will always say you need to use Verbatim DVD+R DL media. This one is no different. Check for firmware updates for your drive too.
  16. Those ones are actually 8x TYG02, someone's just been a bit click happy with the old cut and paste.
  17. If you don't want printable ones, get these: http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=228&prepg=3 They're also £5 cheaper.
  18. The audio is part of the video files (normally - unless is a DVD Audio disc). Search Google for 'dvd demux audio' or something similar.
  19. Yes, that's exactly the problem.
  20. Unless you post a log or something we've nothing to go on.
  21. rename the file to .iso and burn it in write mode.
  22. Is the file an image file? or is it like a big document / video file you want to burn? If it's an image file, you should be burning it in Write mode. If it's a document / video, you need to change the 'File System' to something that DOESN'T include ISO9660. The file size limit within the file system is 4GB. It simply cannot handle files bigger than that.
  23. ImgBurn is just a burning tool. What goes in is what gets put on the disc. If you want to convert anything to fit the target media (when it's from a larger source), that's your problem and you'll have to find the suitable tools to do it I'm afraid. It's not something ImgBurn does or will ever do.
  24. Please post the log info. Look in the 'Help' menu within ImgBurn.
