After setting LB in Build it fails in write
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Neil Wilkes's topic in ImgBurn Support
Are you trying to burn a DVD-R DL disc rather than a DVD+R DL one? Or perhaps you built for a DVD-R DL and want to burn to DVD+R DL? When building an image, it all comes down to the settings on the 'Advanced' -> 'Media' tab. If you show us your logs, we can see what's happening and what you've done. btw, why not just burn directly to the disc? -
Device not ready (Medium not Present)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Smerk Zero's topic in ImgBurn Support
You only have a DVD+ format supporting drive. You need DVD+R media, not DVD-R. -
The layer break position wouldn't (shouldn't) stop it playing full stop, if it has a problem with it then the player just tends to get upset when it has to switch layers - i.e. the first layer should play just fine.
-
This was the first link I found for the drive. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/generic...=en&lang=en Burning is not just about the discs, it's about the discs, the drive AND the firmware. So basically it doesn't really matter if they worked for someone else, they don't work for you with your hardware.
-
Is that log all with the same disc? You got a write error the first time round and so that disc is useless now - unless you were lucky and it didn't totally kill it of course. Just eject + reinsert it. Failing that, get some better discs. We recommend Verbatims and Taiyo Yudens. Update your drives firmware too if possible - click 'Tools' -> 'Drive' -> 'Check for firmware updates'.
-
No idea then I'm afraid. Assuming it plays ok on your PC, it must just be that your players don't like my images. There's a fix coming in the next version of ImgBurn to improve the situation but afaik, it was only an issue for Samsung players and even then it was only a problem for media that wasn't booktyped to DVDROM (which yours is). I've gotta say though, the info your copied+pasted from the info panel on the right doesn't really look complete. It's missing some bits I'd normally expect to see there.
-
Your image is probably too big for the disc. Did you get a warning like that when you clicked the 'Write' button? Failing that, please copy + paste everything from the log window.
-
Erm... I dunno, how about you give us a clue of what we're supposed to be looking at?! No errors Burn at 2.4x The book type is DVD-ROM Decent media is being used We can give you a pat on the back but that's about it.

How to burn 2 single layer discs to 1 dual layer?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Sentinel's topic in ImgBurn Support
Until I come across these problems myself I'm unlikely to see a need for such features/fixes or have anything to develop/base them around. There's only so much you can do when you're just working around a 'theory' ! I don't do much DVD Video burning really (especially not DL) so I doubt it'll happen any time soon! -
Ok so the only thing that's different is that you'd need to build an image first - which is exactly the same as how you're using Build mode right now, except you change the 'Output' to 'Image File' (in the menu at the top). There are guides for that in the guides forum too. You'd need 8GB of hdd space for the image though. Once you've got the image on your hdd you can write it to the disc using 'Write' mode. Then you can compare the image to the disc (when it's in your DVDROM) using 'Verify' mode.
-
Go into the settings and look on the 'Write' tab. Change the 'Write Type' to 'Incremental' instead of 'DAO'. Some drives are buggy and prefer one over the other. Did you try to verify the disc in another drive as mentioned earlier in the thread?

low audio sound levels after burning VIDEO_TS files
LIGHTNING UK! replied to kelse's topic in ImgBurn Support
As ImgBurn is just a burning program, what goes in = what comes out on the disc. Nothing gets changed. Depending on your source, you shouldn't really need to amplify the sound. If it turns out that you do, you'd need to find some software that can do it - it's not something ImgBurn can be used for. I'm sure Google will return some useful info if you do a search. -
device not ready(incompatible medium installed)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Todd 1234's topic in ImgBurn Support
To look for firmware updates, load ImgBurn and click... Tools (menu at the top) -> Drive -> Check for firmware updates. Normally it's easy to check the dye on a disc but of course if your drive can't see them, it's not actually possible! All you can do is buy some discs from an online store that specifies the 'media id' by the side of the product information. btw, are you sure you have a DVD burner and not just a dvd reader / cd writer? If you look in the log window it'll tell you which devices the program found. Copy + paste it all if you like and we'll tell you either way. -
device not ready(incompatible medium installed)
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Todd 1234's topic in ImgBurn Support
The drive doesn't like the discs you're trying to use and cannot initialise them. Until is does, no software can access the media. Update the firmware on the drive and/or buy some discs with a totally different dye. -
Windows Vista prevents non-admin users (or admins where UAC is enabled) from accessing the performance counters. Because of this, ImgBurn is unable to collect and record '% Processor Usage' as part of the IBG (Graph Data). To make matter worse, a bug in DVDInfoPro means that the 'Device Buffer' line isn't plotted on the graph when the '% Processor Usage' values are missing from the IBG file. There's a way around Vista's permissions issue and it doesn't involve compromising the system's security by running the application as an Administrator. Here's how you do it: Method 1: Bring up a command prompt window (running as admin user) - i.e. Click 'Start' -> 'All Programs' -> 'Accessories', right click 'Command Prompt' and select 'Run as administrator'. Now type in the following and press Enter/Return: net localgroup "Performance Monitor Users" "%USERNAME%" /add *If that doesn't work, try replacing the %USERNAME% bit with your actual username or use Method 2 mentioned below! Log off and log on again (or just reboot) and everything should be hunky-dory. Method 2: Right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'. Expand 'Local Users and Groups' and select the 'Groups' folder. Select 'Performance Monitor Users', right click it and select 'Add to Group...' Click the 'Add' button. Click the 'Advanced' button. Click the 'Find Now' button. Select your user's account name from the 'Search results' list at the bottom and then click the 'OK' button. You should then see your user account listed in the 'Enter the object names to select' box. Click the 'OK' button. You should then see your user account listed in the 'Members' box. Click the 'OK' button. Log off and log on again (or just reboot) and everything should be hunky-dory. The End!

Ignore that, they just have to say it to cover their own backs! You run the program, ensure the right drive is selected (and that there's NOT a disc in it) and then hit the 'Update' button. Reboot the PC at the end / when it tells you to. It's as simple as that.

I personally think now would be a good time to get a new drive. Anything that says it can only write to premium 16x speed media at speeds of 1x and 2x is really not worth bothering with.

Yeah put it back on DAO as that's what's default and what undergoes all the testing. You should really leave it on 'Auto' and just read the Guide (in the Guides forum) for how to configure exactly what 'Auto' means. Once the program is configured for your media, you never have to worry about it again! Oh and btw, there's already an RB01 firmware for your drive http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2364

That can happen if you ever click a link to the forum in google. It seems to index in that way and when you click it, that setting gets stored in your cookie.
