  1. I'd use the gold one. That's probably where it's supposed to be. The green ones also have grey ones at the same LBA, so they're not actually that good.
  2. It's sector by sector, byte by byte. It doesn't get any better!
  3. It's either scratched or protected. Either way, there's nothing ImgBurn can do about it.
  4. I've already got it reading / writing those types of images (from bin/cue), but that's no use for build mode obviously! In time, I'm sure build mode will be improved to handle adding to a disc too.
  5. spin up should be automatic as the drive will initialise the disc when it's first inserted. If it's not doing that, there's something wrong and it's not software related.
  6. You must not be looking in the right place then. Just click the icon with a pad and a pen on it.
  7. Sorry but this is nothing to do with ImgBurn.
  8. If the current drive gets changed when you load the IBB, it gets stuck with that 'terminating interface thread' message. I'll make sure it's fixed for the next version.
  9. Uncheck auto-calculate then try again.
  10. loads of the options on the 'write' tab apply to 'build' mode (and to 'discovery' mode too). That's just the way it works because everything uses the same bit of burning code. The verify tab is aimed more at the standalone 'verify' mode, where of course cycling the tray wouldn't apply.
  11. Generally speaking you're much better off using DVD+R DL rather than DVD-R DL. As it says, you can't set the layer break position for -R DL media. That's one of it's drawbacks. All you can do is try to burn whatever it is that you're burning and then test it. It'll either work or it won't - in which case you just lost a few quid.
  12. Yeah, ImgBurn does! Put the disc in and look at the info panel on the right. The amount of data explorer shows on the disc has nothing to do with the actual size of the disc. You can't see 3gb of data and assume it's single layer (although 99% of the time it would be).
  13. It can't have been single layer, simple as that.
  14. Before you burn your next discs, just try enabling the bitsetting manually. If you get a 'Success' message, there's no reason for it not to work. If you don't and it fails, your drive must just not support bitsetting.
  15. Who am I to disappoint chewy? It shall be done.
  16. Give up trying. If it doesn't work now, it's not going to.
  17. 'Access Denied' would suggest what I said earlier. You don't have permission to write to the file. Might I suggest you make yourself a folder somewhere, give yourself full permission on it and then use that as your storage area rather than where you're using at the moment - which obviously you can't use. Or you could right click the ImgBurn icon and run it as the administrator.
  18. Your problem is different actually. I don't know why yours is failing. The drive might be overly picky on the exact format of the cue sheet I'm sending, or it might be failing for a more generic reason. You'd need to enable I/O debug mode (press F8), then try to write the disc again so that it captures more info in the log. Press F8 again to disable it when you've got the 'failed to send cue sheet' message. Then save + upload the log.
  19. Try using 8x Verbatim DVD+R rather than 16x. They're probably better suited to your drive.
  20. Your drive is misreporting the size of the disc. Just try and burn anyway.
  21. Indeed, ASPI should only be needed by old OS's like Windows 95 / 98 / Me. You're not really still running one of those in 2007 are you?!
  22. is the file somewhere you have write access to? What's the exact message? normally it'll tell you why it can't open it.
  23. Sorry, I don't really like that
  24. This will be done one day soon, don't worry. After the multitrack thing is finished, this is probably next on my list.
