  1. tools ,settings, general ,file associations FYI. IMGburn does not support that extention
  2. Thanks polo. The ISO file is 5.29GB. MJ I wouldn't even bother putting that on a dL squash it a little bit and it will fit and play perfect on a SL. I just did a 7gig (enhanced settings) SL on a Verb+R and it plays fine on a 32 inch
  3. GOOGLE is your friend with a little research you can find out the capabilities of both burners,I do believe they both burn dual layer the PIO for sure the only media to burn to (dual layer is Verbatim +R DL nothing else ) About bypassing copyright protection or ripping of any kind forget it you wont get any kind of help doing anything of that nature here, thats what caused the downfall of DVD Decrypter and for legal reasons we dont answer questions pertaining to it or even want to discuss it " i don't know about your moral/legality issues/tolerance, so i'll just say that the thing i want to do borders with illegality" this statement you made, let me make it simple the tolerance is ZERO full stop.If you want to discuss illegal actvity then you need to find another forum there is no exception period , hope this makes it crystal clear updating your firmware to the latest is always a good idea reading the guides is a must
  4. since its a dual layer movie you would have to break the copyright protection and for legal reasons we can't help you do that, its what led to the shut down of dvd decrypter ,for all burning matters this is the right place .BTW IMGburn wont rip anything for you its burn only software
  5. Jayfisher ,seems I read in some other posts about the 716 and TYS having some compatibility problems do you think you could get a Verbatim +r to try ?
  6. as long as the 71/29 has been determined to be excellent you should have no problems .Seeing as its those kinds of numbers can you post what the total size of the ISO is or would it be better off put on a SL ,is it something in the 6 gig range ?

  8. the discs you're using Ritek F1 are not that good get some Verbatim + or - or some Taiyo Yudens Verbs are easier to get in stores Yudens on line.Try new media first its cheaper than getting a new drive that error is usually hardware related you can Google it and do some reading

  15. thanks to everyone for all the good wishes ,I took the day off turned off the phone and didn't answer the door and didn't do a blessed thing ,I forgot how good it felt to do nothing
  16. if all the choices are average then somewhere around 50/50 is ok with the first layer being slightly bigger say 51/49 or closest to that
  17. when was the last time you gave it a good cleaning and blew it out with some compressed air ? or is it ready to start planting the crops
  18. If they pay you American wages there you would live like a king
  19. The media is pretty much garbage(RitekF1) thats the problem with your playback .I installed my Sony 510 A and burned a disc at 4x the drives max I used Verbatim -R 16x media see log below it verifyed perfect also. You might think about getting a new drive they're dirt cheap these days The Pioneer 111D is a good drive all the others I dont know theres been so many mergers and takeovers its hard to know who makes what drives, so many are rebadged .Looking for media I found half a spindle of Ritek GO4 the last good Riteks, GO5's ,so so and half aspindle of Taiyo Yuden -R 8x all I need is a drive that does scans I 14:34:13 ImgBurn Version 2.1.0.12 Beta started! 20. W 12:28:41 Failed to Write Sectors 2240 - 2271 - Power Calibration Area Error definetly media related you can try to find some media that will work with the drive ,but its a really old drive by todays standards and like D says theres been no new firmware for quite some time for .I have a 510 A I'll throw in my computer and see if it will burn Verbs or Yudens OK will get back with an answer
  21. when blu rays are under the $100 mark I'll consider it but everything I need to do can be backed up to single layer discs for about 20 cents each.My Sony DRU510A was $304 when they first became popular and like you say I can get 10 for that price now .Personally I think grabbing the latest hardware is a waste of money especially new format stuff because they already have the research done for newer and faster drives ,they're just milking the first models for the research and development money (not to mention letting them get the bugs out )
  22. ahh ,ermm, I dont think you have to worry about it I'm pretty sure you already have the latest Beta
  23. for the first few months lay of the booze check everything twice till you get a feel for it so to speak
  24. It appears that theres a new program in place on the IB forum buy a BLU RAY burner for testing and LUK will throw in the latest beta absolutely free ,now theres a deal thats hard to pass up LUK has the LG one covered and Grandmaster has the Sony BD Burner BWU-100A so please choose a different manufacturer for testing purposes
