Its been said over and over Verbatim andTtaiyo Yuden are the only way to go, their quality control is far superior to the Riteks ,Ricohs ,CMC etc .To level; the playing field and to give yourself a real chance of success every time you should buy Verbs or TY's .The last good media that Ritek produced was their GO4 -R media around 3 years ago ,The discs I burned still play fine and I even have half a spindle that burns perfect , other than those I use Verbs and TY only and its been a long while since I burned a coaster .To see whats going on get some Verbs and see if the problems go away

Supermediastore... I've dealt with them in the past and they tried to play cute on some discs I ordered ,wasn't what I wanted and had a hard time getting an RMA from them . Never used them again New Egg and Meritline always give me great products and service

no 16x is only achieved near the end of the read(Disc) if its reached at all .Its not a constant read speed from the beginning it gradually builds up to its max speed

Hi , no Imgburn will not convert formats ,(PAL =Euro or NTSC US ) it can be done but its a pretty drawn out and lengthy process .If the ISO is NTSC ,US and you want to send it to Europe go ahead their players and TV's can handle both formats but the US doesn't handle PAL unless the hardware is specifically bought to play it

theres no tab for Phillips drives with IB .Perhaps you can find something on Google

try good media first Verbatim or Yudens

Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs they are the best .CMC MAG we've seen so many problems with them I wish I had a penny for every time we did . Its not hard to flash the drive, download the firmware ,and there will be a flashing tool with the dl ,make sure theres no discs in the drive. With IB you can right click the drive in the destination box last line is firmware update just follow the prompts like its been said BYS3 was the latest I could find

its a burner but only a CD burner . The following is from Google regarding the drive, notice TYPE, its a DVD ROM .The drives are called "combo drives " cd write /dvd read . it wont see the dvd drive in write mode because its not a DVD burner its a dvd rom (read only) and Write Mode only sees burners ,verify is a read function and IB will recognize it in verify mode . You cant actually burn a DVD with what you have .

yeah they do also Optirac ,they are drives that are built by NEC and Sony together,Most drives that I've seen like Verbs dont know why the PIO doesn't ,comes down to firmware I guess

to update your comp right click on the drive in the destination box of IB.The last line will be firmware update ,make note of your firmware follow the prompts and see if theres newer,if there is download it and there will be a flashing tool with it .Make sure theres no disc in the drive when you do it. If you cant update that way then you will have to go to Comaq site to get the latest firmware same thing applies dl it open and use the flash tool

post the regular log please the debug one is primarily for LUK and should be posted at his request, us mere mortals do better with the regular one .The power calibration error means that the drive cant set the power level for the laser to burn the media try cleaning the laser with a cleaning disc or maybe the media is crap ,you can use 10 kinds of media but they can be the same dye manufacturer .Verbatim and taiyo yuden are the only 2 we recommend

try 1 Verbatim disc , we've seen every other dual layer disc there is here and Verbs are the only ones that work time after time

Verbs are the only discs that are really consistent in their quality when it comes to DL stuff .While you got 10 good ones then you get another batch of discs and 5 bad ones thats how it goes with iffy media. you dont say what media you use for Dual Layer use VerbatimDL only we see verify problems when cheap media is used and cant be read back properly .Cheap media = Memorex and RitekDL's to name 2. Post a log of the burn, they are automatically stored ,go to Help --->Imgburn logs

maybe its not the drive but your media. Verbatim Dual Layer discs are the ONLY ones that work correctly .Try one and see if your problems go away ,also make sure you have up to date firmware for your drive
