  1. check out build mode thats a calculator on the right side
  2. its not IMGburn that controls it its the hardware /firmware if the hardware doesn't support it theres nothing IB can do ,it(IB) questions the drive and reports back what it finds
  3. I think he' s having his undercarriage inspected
  4. if its not the right firmware you shouldnt be able to flash with it ,you'll get some kind of pop up stating it,The media is excellent I use it all the time with no problems .When you get sick and tired of that drive reputable ones are around $40You show 130 firmware latest is 171f if thats correct then you are way behind and sometimes updating firmware is all it takes for success
  5. I went back over all the posts in this thread and as far as I can tell we have been talking about DVD's all along ,TThere are other manufacturers for DVD's but I think they would be local sales ,There are not that many dye manufacturers which is the #1 thing to look for
  6. Verbatim DVD+R DL its been said probably a couple of hundred times here they are the only discs that work properly ALL other DL media proceed at own risk and dont be suprised when they go tits up BTW yeah return them ,make sure the Firmware is up to date also .If you're in US check Neweggthey have Verbs for $37 for 20 and a $10 rebate and also free shipping
  7. I PM'd her about it guess it didn't get read/sink in
  8. I use Memorex High Gloss. I have heard bad things about STOMPER, Not the apparatus, the label stock: It bubbles up and peels off. I have never had Memorex stock peel off or bubble up - As a matter of fact, I tried to PRY a label off a DVD, it was a Memorex label, I had stuck the wrong label on the disk... I could NOT even budge it, the thing was attached like it was fused onto the DVD. in the beginning I used stomper and all the labels are still fine .The problem with the labels if I remember right was the glue or something in the glue leeching through the disc and corrupting the data /video/audio on it ,its a situation that has been debated for a long time
  9. out of intrest I looked ,you can get Pal players and they came way down in price

  12. post the log from IMGburn. IMGburn now keeps the logs automatically click on HELP and then IMGburn logs
  13. hey kirk you called them all a pack of what
  14. " i put the write speed at 4x it never went past 4x weird... i duno whats going on " theres nothing strange about it you chose 4X write speed and it burned at 4X so why do you think it would burn at any other speed ? the drive/firmware has supported speeds they work at so if you're trying to get a speed that isn't listed then it wont burn at that speed but the one closest to it for those Dual Layer discs booktype them that is make the player think its a DVD ROM instead of a +R DL ,at the right hand corner of IMGburn theres a little icon that looks like a book click on it and select the LiteOn tab and then change the DL to DVD ROM (change for---> DL +R new setting---> DVD ROM ) it gives better compatibility with players. Your firmware has to support bitsetting BTW or it wont work
  15. #1 you cant get any advice on how to beat copyright protection here ,its a legal issue that caused DVD Decrypters end ,sorry #2 IMGburn is not a ripper but a burning software only like its name implies Google is your friend
  16. "Do you think we should tell him" Hey LFC its me Lisa a female and yes the message is out
  17. Imgburn reports what the drive/firmware supports .The supported speeds that are reported and you can choose from the speeds with IB. A Google of the Id shows that this media sucks (I've never heard of it )if you want trouble free burning get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs
  18. post a log of the burn so we can see whats up
  19. Use Verbatim media or Taiyo Yuden they are the only discs we reccommend here all else is junk by comparison .You can also try to booktype the disc to appear as a dvd rom disc ,in the right hand corner of IMGburn there is a small icon of a book click on it ,I believe your burner is an LG click that tab and see if you can set the drive for dvd rom ( play with the menus, choices)
  20. the Sony 500 was when Sony was still making drives I have a 510, nowdays Lite On makes the drives for Sony so you use that tab in the booktyping section
  21. Epson makes printers that can do covers for dvd's dont know the current models but I have an older Epson 960 that does a great job the model EP 200,and 300 also print CD/DVD's www.cdcovers.cc has the largest collection of covers and cd/dvd art there is great site MEMOREX in a word SUCKS the 'brand" of media we see that causes the most errors Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are the only way to go
  22. we see lots of problems with Sony media some burners like them othjers dont use Verbatim +R ot Taiyo Yuden discs they are both excellent You can also look for new firmware there is a 1.37 firmware but I dont know Pioneers scheme of things meaning whether the numbers get higher for new FW or lower . In IMGburn right click on the burner and follow the last line in the menu firmware update
  23. I have an a couple NEC's and they dont support booktyping on +R only on the DL. NEC never released a firmware for the support of +R
  24. Happy Birthday ,its going to be a pony at the bash right
