Seems that is a newer firmware for your drive http://www.firmwarehq.com/Optiarc/AD-7200S/files.html
-
Did you let it to verify? If the burn and verify was "successfully completed" as you say there's no real reason the disc not to work except reader compatibility with the media perhaps. The log would tell us more but you don't have it anymore. In the end it's alright.
-
If it "get stuck" as you say at verify than there is a problem. The verify part is needed to be sure the disc is readable (at least in that drive).
-
That image would fit on a single layer disc. You did not let the verify enabled so we don't know if that drive would read it back. Try find a firmware update for the drive on Gateway support site. You should update Vista to SP2.
-
OK, good for you. Can you still show us the log of the burn? The logs are saved automaticaly, just look in Help menu for it.
-
If it burned it than it should reading it back as well. Did you burned the disc in another laptop/computer not on the Gateway? You should post the log as per the pink box up say for further assistance.

Maybe your drive is too old for the 8x ones (Disc ID: MKM-003-00). Try find the 2.4x (Disc ID: MKM-001-00) Maybe it's time for a new burner. You should invest in a new one anyway. -
Same thing after reboot the laptop?

Try with this newer firmware installed http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHAS124%2BY/files.html You should try all the write speeds available instead of MAX (8x, 12X in general should be a good burning speed)
-
Nice first post Welcome, stay around, enjoy the program.

"Unable to find any cells that could be used for the layer break.!

Use DVDShrink to make it fit on DVD5. -
What if you set the speed to 8x instead of MAX?
-
Go for an Optiarc 72xx and find a nice USB 2.0 (and/or eSATA if you have it on laptop) external enclosure for it. Those that come bundled as external burners may not be as good as the Optiarc drives.
-
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 Buy yourself a normal burner in an external enclosure, slimtype/laptop burners are bad dual layer burners.
-
Here is some of you can try, in the end when nothing works buy a new drive. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000

You still have hard disk activity problems... Try Reset DMA from Tools than restart. Update drivers for chipset/storage, this site may help. http://www.ma-config.com/ Try some other brand of disc that don't use the CMC MID/dye. Verbatim are recommended.
-
Are you sure it was burned at 2.4x? The program will overrule the speed you set if is not supported and burn at closest available You could try a lens cleaning disc if you have one around.
-
Install the latest firmware and try again. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1580-file_TSST_TS-L632H-SLIM-8X-DVD---_A09_R250068.exe.html Also your hard disk is struggling. Stop doing havy tasks while burn.

SP1 for Windows 7 is out for a while, you should update. You can't force the drive to burn slower. You are using 8x rated media and 2.4x is not supported in your current drive/firmware/media combo. Try a 8x than 6x.

uTorrent has a nice feature of local private tracker (need to be enabled in settings). Make it a .torrent and send the few kb file by email than the program will care the rest. Here is how to do it. http://bootstrike.com/Articles/CreateTorrent/

You only get the prompt at the first folder added than not for the rest of the folders. If you add a file first than the folders the prompt will not come out. It shows the prompt again if you delete the rest and remain one single folder. Sure, you know all of that. For me the only info I need from the calculator is the media usage %. I like it like that. I can do all I want and suits my needs in standard window. I didn't feel that I need more advanced input, at least for now.

You can't force the drive to burn slower. 2.4x is the slowest possible on +R media but you can always try higher if the slower speeds don't produce a decent burn. The recommendation is to try all available speeds to see which produces the best burn on a specific media. As for "Waiting for buffers to recover and Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level" try not to do heavy tasks while burning. Sometimes even a scheduled virus scan/windows update runing in background can produce that warning. It's not realy a problem if it is not very frequent. The log you provide looks fine, apart of the "Write Speed Miscompare" the burn and verify was succesfully.

You can tick "Auto" box to do the calculation automaticaly when adding/deleting files/folders.
-
Are you using the latest version of the program? I recall there was a problem on an older version with less files added than selected on drag and drop, though I can't remember if it was a released version or a beta...

No multisession, sorry. Anyway, 1 ISO = 1 disc, no need for multisession.
