  1. Three times before the burn appears in the log "Volume Label: [Not Configured]" than on the burn disc I see "Image File Volume Identifier: 20110307B"

    I 08:23:12 Project Successfully Saved!

    I 08:23:12 File Name: C:\Documents and Settings\GFF\Application Data\ImgBurn\Project Files\20110307B.IBB

It doesn't matter when you configure the label, before you hit the burn button or when it is suggested after the burn button is clicked.

ImgBurn is doing its job beautiful. The rest is your system problem.

Can you try the discs on other computer?

  2. It should take you to download AutoFix.exe The Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard, didn't you get there?

Do you have any other burning related or maybe some packet writing programs installed?

Go to Tools > Filter Drive Load Order... click Copy To Clipboard and paste here.

  3. If it plays OK on computer than probably a setting of zoom or panscan is activated on PS3.

I don't know (don't have PS3) but probably there is a master reset to factory defaults somwhere in settings of PS3 that you can use.

    You should leave verify enabled.

You are using an outdated version of ImgBurn.

Anyway, it appears there is an firmware update for your drive 1.10, you currently have 1.00 installed. http://www.sony-asia.com/support/download/61505/sectionfirst?subpage=detail

Maybe you should use DVD+R that can be book typed to DVD-ROM instead of DVD-R...

The lebel is there, before and after the burn. ImgBurn has done its job perfect. Your system is playing up.

Update to current version of ImgBurn btw.

  6. I didn't really understand what you meant...

After you make the disc, switch to read mode and make an image of that disc.

Take a look at the log, than to location where you saved the image and you'll figure out what I meant.

  7. If it were to write CD-Text it shoud show in log

    I 16:58:21 Writing LeadIn... (CD-TEXT)

You probably not followed correctly. You need to input the Performer and Title for every track one by one.

If you read the disc to an image, does it show the titles in log than in cue of that image? Open it in Notepad?

Does it ever produce the .cdt file along with the .img, .ccd and .cue files when read it back to an image?

    I 21:45:44 Destination Media Type: CD-R*

    I 21:45:44 Write Speed: 1x

    W 21:45:44 Write Speed Miscompare! - Wanted: 176 KB/s (1x), Got: 256 KB/s (1.7x

What you have there is an old writer that don't like (recognize correctly) the new media or have no support at all in it's firmware for that media.

You're kinda out of options with that computer/writer.

Try use other computer/writer to burn that disc or try different media. Verbatim are recommended.

P.S. You should take in consideration upgrading XP to SP3

  9. ImgBurn is a burning tool. It burns "as is". It will not convert or modify your files.

In order to produce a working disc you should already have the files in a form according to what you want to be the disc.

You can't expect that ImgBurn will sort out the problem if the files/iso don't play even on your computer as it should (as BD disc in your case)

You need to sort out the problem with your converter (DVD Architect, as you mention) to produce a working iso.

Only than you can burn it to disc with ImgBurn and expect to play as it should. You will use Burn image file to disc mode.

  10. Does your player support playing avi. Not all players do. Look for a firmware update for your player.

Maybe you need to convert the avi to standard DVD Video using DVD Flick or DVD Styler.

Post a log with burn and verify.

  11. I 16:45:47 Destination Device: [0:0:0] MATSHITA UJ-850D 1.00 (D:) (ATA)

    I 16:45:47 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: SONY16D1) (Speeds: 1x, 2x)

Your drive don't like (support in firmware) the discs you are using.

The media is 16x rated and it only shows it can burn it at 1x and 2x.

Use quality media from Verbatim or at least try other media that not use the same MID/dye SONY16D1

  12. If selecting the output format Digital compression DVD will not produce a VIDEO_TS folder with .ifo, .bup, .vob files in it instead of .ts file than you need to convert it to that format.

    @ Rincewind

According to DVD Video standard apart from the regular MPEG-2 video:

The following formats are allowed for MPEG-1 video compression at up to 1.856 Mbit/s (1,856 kbit/s).

352 × 288 pixels at 25 frame/s, progressive (Same as the VCD Standard)

352 × 240 pixels at 29.97 frame/s, progressive (Same as the VCD Standard)

MPEG-1 formats do not support interlaced video

  13. ImgBurn is a burning tool not a convertor.

All it does is burns files/folders or images to disc.

Yes it can make an iso from whatever file you give but that is not a comvertion or alteration of the file in any way.

It just wraps the file in a iso container. ISO is just a container, a sort of an archive for easy manipulation.

The ISO image is a single file (sometimes two) instead of a bunch of files.
