1x is not an option here, it was burned at 2.4x and you disabled the verify so we can't realy know if it was a decent burn. Burn one disc at 8x (than lower if the problem persist) and leave the verify enabled, you are using 8x rated media after all. Post back a log with burn and verify enabled. Yes you are correct. Copy files to hard drive, add what you want to them and burn the new disc. You don't have to reformat the disc. You just hit the Burn button and accept the erase prompt. It will be overwrited after a quick erase. The build function is "from scratch"...

There is no support for multisession. You have to rebuild your disc with the additional files. ImgBurn don't need space on hard drive if you burn to disc and uses little of the system memory.

Don't worry about image file formats. ImgBurn will make the appropriate format for the disc content. Let it choose what it wants. Most of the times it will be ISO and sometimes will be CUE/BIN. The MDS file type is primarily associated with 'Media Descriptor'. This file is used by several different programs. It generally is found with an .ISO CD image file and is the equivalent of what a .CUE file is to a .BIN image.

Use Virtual CloneDrive to mount the iso than recreate the iso with ImgBurn containing your modifications. I'm afraid this is most of you can get from what you ask.

DVD Flick comes with an old version (2.4.4.0) wich resides in Program Files\DVD Flick\imgburn folder. You can replace it with the new one that you installed in Program Files\ImgBurn.

The firmware update will improve media support of the drive. Can't you save the iso to other partition instead of C:\ ? As I said, Windows 7 will not let you save to C:\ unless you modify the permissions and run the program as administrator. I still think the ISO is somewhere in C:\Users\YOUR_USER\Documents but probably it's hidden, that's why you can't find it by search and Windows asks to overwrite it.

In Windows 7 you don't have the permission to save on C:\ partition by default. It will be saved in C:\Users\YOUR_USER\Documents though. See if you can find it there. Alternatively you can track the path by starting again and look to the address bar where it will be saved when it tells you that already exists. Your specific model TS-H653Q has listed SC01 firmware update, but that is not matching your OEM version, your looks as 0303. You can try find an update if it ever exist on your computer manufacturer site. Seems to be an HP laptop, am I right?

You can find old logs via Help menu. Why would you use TAO anyway, it can cause problems on some players. Try other speeds available. Make sure you use the current version of ImgBurn.

The problem is that your drive is old (2006 is the latest firmware that's already installed) and don't like the new media, hence the only (2.4x) write speed supported shows, usualy there are more for that MID. Cleaning the lens of the drive might help. Use a lens cleaning disc or manual. Usualy Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00) will decide if the burner is still alive, give it a shot. If all fails Ricewind already recommended the solution for you.
