  1. ImgBurn is a burning tool not a convertor. All it does is burns files/folders or images to disc. Yes it can make an iso from whatever file you give but that is not a comvertion or alteration of the file in any way. It just wraps the file in a iso container. ISO is just a container, a sort of an archive for easy manipulation. The ISO image is a single file (sometimes two) instead of a bunch of files.
  2. Disable temporary your antivirus.
  3. Upgrading Vista is for your system health and security. The first three drivers are related to the drive but you should update all. Do all updates and try burn one disc again.
  4. Yes the problem is with your drive. It doesn't like those disc you use. It's a drive/fimware/media incompatibility. Try some different discs if none of the supported write speeds produce a working disc.
  5. Start ImgBurn and post what you get in that log. Than I'll leave others to help if they come up with something.

  7. You not even need to go in advanced mode. Just drag the VIDEO_TS from Windows Explorer or your favorite file browser to the ImgBurn window in Write files/folders to disc mode (Build mode)
  8. If you open the cue in Notepad, you probably will spot the problematic file as it will have very short playing time, usualy less than 2 sec. Just eliminate that file from the cue. You could paste the cue content here, someone will have a look at it.
  9. The name of the error suggests there is an incompatibility. The incompatibility is between drive/firmware/media. You need to change one variable to try to pinpoint the problem. The easyest would be the firmware if it were any new but isn't any compatible to your OEM drive. The second would be the media you use. That wouldn't be so hard to try other disc from other manufacturer that not use the same MID/dye as you currently use. Than may be a faulty drive. If it's new as you say, you could send it back as RMA. Unless you try, you won't know wich one is the problem. Now, with new firmware non existent your next option is the media. Try some different.
  10. Post one of the logs of erase attempt. Look in Help menu for old logs.
  11. You have to try all the available speeds to see if one of those speeds will produce a working disc. A lens cleaning disc in that drive might help. Try other media, different from SONY16D1 MID/dye. Verbatim are recommended. If all fails, buy a new drive that can burn that media.
  12. If you can't get to a resolution with Sony Vegas maybe you should take a look into DVDFlick or DVDStyler instead.
  13. You can use this site to identify your hardware http://www.ma-config.com/ Click the big green button to run the detection. Look for chipset drivers and storage controller drivers if there are outdated. I don't know what to recommend for printable disc. Verbatim are the best. You probably got a faulty batch. You should take in consideration upgrading Vista to SP2.
  14. None of the 3 writers produce a good disc? Please confirm that you are using the current 2.5.5.0 version. Post a log as the pink box above instructs.
  15. Try a higher speed. You used 4x, so you left with 6x and 8x to try from the supported ones.
  16. What are the Sony Vegas Pro 8 output formats? Isn't one of them as DVD Video or VIDEO_TS folder?
  17. Also there is a later firmware for your drive http://www.firmwarehq.com/Plextor/PX-LB950SA/files.html
  18. From the log, using a USB drive I assumed you have a laptop. For a computer is much more safe to use it internal.
  19. That disc probably was damaged in a previous attempt. Try a new disc from the spindle. That 3382 MB is not a correct size even for a SL disc.
  20. Who sais and where it shows? Probably your antivirus is playing up. Can you post a screenshot of that error? And post a log as well, as the pink box above instructs.
  21. Thats why I suggested three digit numbers 001, 002, 010, 100...
  22. Did you reinstalled ImgBurn with the option "Enable SPTI for All Users" enabled?
  23. Go for an Optiarc 72xx series and find a nice (not too expensive) external enclosure and you'll be fine. You can find more reviews and recommendations for o good burner on myce forum.
  24. Do they use the exact model of computer/laptop or burner? It's all about drive/firmware/media combination incompatibility. You have to change one of the variables in order to move somwhere. The easyest to change is firmware and since isn't one new compatible you could try change the media. Other than that, change the drive. Avoid slimline/laptop burner since they arn't reliable double layer burners, regardles of manufacturer.
  25. There is a pinned topic regarding problems burning double layer discs http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 There isn't more apart of what is there. Try all of them.
