  1. Both of those discs are so far out of ECMA specs, they are no more use than a piece of old toilet paper. Do a mmalves says and discard the cheap Ricoh media you are using. Regards
  2. Thanks for the feedback Edwin but you are preaching to the converted/telling us something we already know. CMC discs are totally worthless junk. Use them as frisbees for the kids but do not ever attempt to write valuable data to them. Regards
  3. Do bother to check the update log on the home page to see the very extensive list of changes and fixes. Each update to ImgBurn is quite a major release - not like many other programs out there applying to CD/DVDs. Regards
  4. Glad to help. You can find all this info in cynthia's very good guide on ImgBurn's functions - link in my signature. Regards
  5. ImgBurn doesn't do this. You'll need to re-author the disc (not the image). The VM instructions need to be changed so that after the title is finished, it restarts. You can do this with PgcEdit using the DVD Shrink plugin. Regards
  6. Anyway, the media you have purchased is quite inferior. Only use Verbatim, +R, 2.4x, MKM-001-00, Made in Singapore. Regards
  7. Flick off. Regards
  8. @laserfan First, take it easy. Second, you have the option to control affairs. If you wanna continue on, do so. If you wanna stop and dump the disc, you can also do that. In a case such as yours, you might say well, if I got 3 errors only, I'm OK and then abort on the 4th. But even if the disc verifies with only a few errors (or none at all), doesn't mean it is all that good. A PI scan might show unacceptable errors which leads to bad playback. All in all, I'd agree with donta. If the disc fails to verify, turf it and try again. Not much of a victory, unless you are burning at maximum speed on cheap media with a shithouse burner with firmware that is eons behind. Why bother verifying if you'll accept errors? Regards
  9. Also look at Advanced -> Restrictions tab in build mode. Regards
  10. Please see cynthia's guide to ImgBurn functions. Regards
  11. To see if it really is booktyped properly, insert the DVD and bring up ImgBurn and look in the right panel (Read mode). Regards
  12. Have you got spaces in between the numbers (or is that just the formatting)? Regards
  13. Update your firmware like you were advised. You'll be a happy camper then. Regards
  14. Your player probably doesn't play MP4, especially if they are pirated. If you buy the DVD, I'm sure it will play. Regards
  15. And if you can't do that, it is an SPTI problem. Users need access to the drive. Either change the policy for users, or run the prog thru ASPI. Regards
  16. Stop other disc and CPU intensive activities during burning to minimise buffer underruns. Regards
  17. I can attest to the crossover cable idea for large amounts of data like Mort's. Costs almost nothing (you can make it yourself actually) and is very fast. Happy New Year, Mort. Regards
  18. Check your firmware is up to date. But I have to say, that is not one of the most reliable drives out there. Regards
  19. Not quite. If a DVD- AUDIO disc, this is where the files are. They are IFO/BUP and AOB (Audio Object). Regards
  20. Layer 0 is burned first from the hub to the outside then layer 1 from outside in. Layer 1 always has significantly more PI errors since the laser has to "read through data" on layer 0 to get to it. If your burn is within ECMA specs, you should not be worried. Regards
  21. On your back? Oh you meant the same thing LOL No, I mean: 1. Switch on PC 2. Press the PORN key. Regards
  22. What was the emergency? If the data is very important (and after all, it's just a Playstation game), get better media than the shit you are currently using (CMC MAG). We only recommend Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden media. Regards
  23. That's pretty much how I do it :D Regards
  24. Check out Fix Your DMA in my signature. but do the opposite - make it PIO. Don't forget to re-enable it after the firmware update. As for packet writing software, do you have installed any of those in [ ] in your post or Ner0's InCD? If so, uninstall them. Nothing will happen, except you won't be able to write to DVD RAM using drag and drop. You can reinstall them later, if you like. I must say, this is a funny firmware update that makes you go thru these hoops. Another shit thing from my good friends at SONY. Regards
