  1. Your burner doesn't support the media you're using (notice the weird values for Supported Write Speeds). Get Verbatim DVD+R DLs 2.4x MKM-001 Made In Singapore and they should work. Or maybe a new burner? :)

im starting to think you guys are all reps for Verbatim and are pushing the product out for them lol... thanks for the help ill try the verbatims

Sure wish I was getting paid....

  2. I've posted your log for all to see.....

    I 16:38:45 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 started!

    I 16:38:45 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2)

    I 16:38:45 Total Physical Memory: 2,096,172 KB - Available: 1,490,280 KB

    I 16:38:45 Initialising SPTI...

I 16:38:45 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

    I 16:38:45 Found 1 CD-ROM, 2 DVD-ROMs and 1 DVD

  3. I had actually already considered that one as it was also recommend by someone else...I think it was $24 here in the states. The CPU I won was CPU only so I'll definately need a HSF.

  4. 1) When using "Write files/folders to disc" I can click on the "browse for a folder" button to add folders and "browse for a file" button to add files. If I want to choose both files and folders (located within the same folder) do I have to use each button separately, or can I choose the files and folders all at once?

Open Imgburn in build mode and dran-n-drop what you want to burn into the file selection window.

  5. Why do you think I waited? I already pushed the price up for others in three other auctions :)

Dunno about HSF, any suggestions? ($20-$30)

  6. I looked at RAM earlier this morning, but I think I'll stick with what I have for now....like I said I can always upgrade in the future if I feel the extra oomph is needed.

Something I've never understood is the timings, my G.Skill is 5-5-5-15, but what does it all mean?

Since the cost of memory modules does not vary drastically between speed grades, we recommend that you purchase the highest speed you think you may need in the long term. You will save some money if you decide to upgrade you microprocessor later, all memory is backward compatabile as far as bus speeds are concerned. Also if you purchase PC3200 400MHz modules with a CAS specification of 2.5 and you run it at a reduced frequency of 333MHz it will, in almost all cases, operate at CAS 2 at the reduced frequency.

With all things equal, a stick of DDR memory capable of running 2-2-2-5 memory timings will make the computer operating experience seem faster than a DIMM which can only operate at 3-4-4-8. This is because the delay from when the memory receives an instruction, retrieves the data, and sends it back out is less time.

...it makes a little sense, basically the lower the better...same with CAS latency.
