I just happened to stumble across this. 8.0.1.1002 of the INF chipset software installation utility. That worked for this board and you directed me to it on Major Geeks or something like that. But, the last version listed on Intel's page for the D875PBZ board is 6.3.0.1008 dated almost 2 years ago. Thanks for the links! the 8.1.1 version is newer than mine and I probably wouldn't have found it because Intel's page of downloads for the D875 lists only the 6.3 version. BTW, LUK, I don't have a RAID setup, just 1 SATA HD installed. Should I still get the RAID/AHCI Software - Intel? Matrix Storage Manager 5.5.0.1035 1/5/2006 software? Thanks again!

Actually, can you tell me something I can do that might repeat this LOCK VOLUME issue? I didn't note what it was that caused it in the log below and I forget what it was I was doing. So I can test my drivers. I know my lack of knowledge is becoming embarrassing at this point but how would I check the version of/updates for the matrix storage driver and/or my filter drivers (silicon image). As... I'm not even entirely sure what all of these are... Thanks!

All I found on the site of downloads for my mobo that seemed remotely close to it was the Chipset Software Installation Utility, and I believe I've installed those drivers already. Plus, they're almost 2 years old. Oh, wait, if that's what I'm looking for, didn't Major Geeks or something like that have an update Intel didn't have?

In a strange turn, Memorex's DVD+R discs don't seem to be anywhere near as low quality as their DVD-R CMC's.

That's what my psychiatrist just said last Friday. I had looked up my condition before and it said one in every 200 Americans, so, I asked him if that value was correct. He said it was that rare and put it in comparison by saying 1 in every 3 Americans is diabetic. Now, granted, he's not a medical physician, but, he should be relatively knowledgeable enough. He knows the medical side effects of psychiatric medications. Also, when I first saw him, we discussed my back surgery and was competent enough to discuss it well enough that, to me, he knows what he's talking about on the medical side.

Yep, I've got the same thing, now called schizoaffective bipolar disorder. I take 11 pills a day. Granted, that also includes my neuropathy, hypertension, and back pain medicine, plus 2 vitamins.

Yeah, with CMC's, and even with good media, a burn that completes is, unfortunately, not a reliable sign that the media it was burnt to is good. Memorex CMC's have, on a good day, a 20% success rate. However, if you are sure you were burning to CMC's BEFORE with 2.1, you were probably lucky they were okay. It is most likely just coincidence it happened with when you updated. Have you recently changed the brand of media you normally use? Even then, within a package of discs on its own, you can, sometimes, get mixed manufacturer ID's.

Yeah, they're the same .EXE and folder name. The only difference is the quotes and internally in the Registry their "names" although they are named the same in MSCONFIG. I forgot to mention, I was using a beta of ZA 7 so this is why I believe I have two entries and hence why I need to know which one. Of course, I could just remove each and test and I have a feeling that's what I'll be doing.

I need a little bit of help. If anyone would do so, please do the following, and, if you don't know what MSCONFIG is then don't bother. You need to be running ZoneAlarm 7, not 6 or earlier. Please open MSCONFIG and check your StartUp tab for the zlclient entry. Also, check if there are two entries. I have two entries, but, I think there should be only one. I have two that each have the same Command, except one is surrounded by quotes and one isn't. Which one do you have? A Command surrounded by quotes or not? (Within the Registry, one is called Zone Alarm and the other ZoneLabs.) Thanks!
