Assuming you haven't tried this already, I would click below: http://benq.co.uk/serviceandsupport/downlo...=838&type=B and download the fwcheck tool to see what fw is currently installed and then try updating (if it will allow you to) with the fw from the BenQ site.

Mmmm - seems that most sites I visited after a google search talk about using the same fw's on the OEM and Retail. Sorry to add to your confusion there.....

Ok so it's the OEM unit - presumably the rpc site is directing you to this page then ? http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2223 I might be wrong but a while back I was reading up on this and I think those fw's are for the Retail drives. I am not 100% on this but I think the Retail fw's begin with B and the OEM's have a different letter.... That said I do remember reading a lot of stuff on this and there was considerable conflicting advice - let me see if I can turn it up again.

Well said blu I have to say that I admire the patience of Lightning UK! in dealing with this, as blu rightly points out thousands of people have d/l programs written by LUK! and some have made suggestions as to improvements or additions that could be made. It appears to me that LUK! considers these and those that are of genuine merit are implemented. This is not one of those - I like to be able to see what IB is doing and I take comfort in the knowledge that the programs author ensures that all his programs do their tasks to the best of the ability......

I have the BenQ DW1655 but have not seen the same problems as you with updating the firmware. Is yours an OEM version or a Retail version ? I know from when I was looking to buy mine there appear to be two versions and they have different firmwares for each one ? I think from memory I have only updated it twice so far but both times it went as expected. Where are you getting the fw updates from ? Is it the BenQ site ? I have downloaded both of mine from the BenQ.com site but you can also get them from www.rpc1.org.

I think Jackie (and the others who saw the Ghosts) just wanted them to be relatives back from the dead - she said they were scared and ran around to start off with, until they realised they weren't going to hurt them.... Ah ok, will need to watch that again - I did miss the Dr saying it was a prison ship..... I prefer that we saw the Black Dalek escape, it's all to easy to do a clever flashback to explain their re-appearance in the next series.... Perhaps the other three members of the cult of Skaro also escaped, as you said there were so many daleks flying around who would be able to tell ?

I have to agree on the Rose narration, as soon as I saw that I was sure Rose wasn't actually going to die - I heard whispers afterwards that the writers did originally intend for her to be killed but there was concern at how the army of young fans would take it so they opted for the death in "our" world but moving to the parallel universe where her Mum and parallel universe dad could be together..... As for the Ghost being Rose's Grandad, Dr Who actually covers this off when he is talking to Rose and her Mum, doesn't he say that it's not who her mum thinks it is (she mentions a smell of the cigarettes etc), Dr Who points out there is no smell or way to determine who it is - he notes that Jackie's desire for it to be her Dad is making her more and more convinced and allowing the Ghosts to seem more real.... Finally and maybe I misunderstood this but I thought the Genesis Ark was stolen timelord technology not a prison ship. I thought one of the cult members said it was Timelord Technology to Rose and Mickey but he never actually said it was a prison for Daleks, therefore the Cult had used it to preserve the Daleks for an attack. Using it they were able to transports hundreds of them in the Void ship to earth. Did you spot that the black Dalek transported somewhere before he was sucked into the void/breach ?? Dr Who always needs Daleks.....
